Disney has announced that 'Frozen' has become the highest grossing animated film of all time. This week's box office takings have tipped it beyond 'Toy Story 3', with a total haul of $1,072,402,000 (£644,743,000). In addition to this, 'Frozen' has also entered the top ten highest-grossing films of all time list, nudging out 'Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest'. In March 'Frozen' became the first billion dollar film for Walt Disney Animation Studios and the seventh for Disney on the whole. It also became the first film from studio win the Best Animated Feature Oscar. Frozen's box office breakdown consists of $398.4 million at the US box office and $674 million at the international box office. In the UK it has taken $64.5m (£38.7m). Upon its US release on 23 November 2013 'Frozen' took the biggest ever opening weekend total for Thanksgiving. It stayed in the US top ten for 16 weeks, longer than any film for over a decade. The news comes shortly after its home release in the US and just ahead of its release on DVD and Blu Ray in the UK on Monday 31 March. Via: Yahoo
