Sadly no, he’s not replacing Ricky Wilson here in the UK, Pharrell Williams (and his hat) are set to join The Voice US. The G I R L singer, who previously acted as an adviser to Team Usher on season four, is the first coach to be confirmed for the next series. Retweeting the official announcement, Pharrell said: ‘This is going to be so fun.’ Current coach Adam Levine later tweeted: ‘Welcome to the circus dude!’ The show’s executive producer Mark Burnett said of the new addition: ‘I am thrilled to have Pharrell come back to The Voice family, and this time… as a coach. Continuing in The Voice tradition of having the biggest and most current music stars as coaches, Pharrell fits perfectly.’ No word as yet on who will be joining Pharrell on the panel, though CeeLo Green revealed last month that he would not be returning. The NBC singing competition is currently in its sixth season, with Levine, Usher, Shakira and Blake Shelton serving as coaches. Metro
