As much as we admire this artist’s work, getting into a game of hide and seek with him might be tricky - it could go on for days. These incredible images show just how much one man can blend in with his surroundings. Internationally-acclaimed Chinese artist Liu Bolin is the master of camouflage – so much so that he is known as the invisible man. Using his own body as a canvas, Bolin becomes the ultimate human chameleon as he paints himself into the background. He takes on the appearance of his surroundings and seems to dissolve into the scenery. He is pictured in the supermarket aisle, a marketplace, at the library and hanging around train depots – but he is only visible to the most observant. The artist describes his work as ‘creating scenes that are statements about our relationship to our surroundings’. Although Bolin has been disappearing for many years now, his first UK solo exhibition opened in London today. Liu Bolin: The Heroic Apparition is on at London’s Scream Gallery until May 10. Metro
