There are some things that we’ve come to expect from years of habit - and toothpaste tasting like mint is one of them. But oral care firm Theodent has thrown a spanner in the works by launching a toothpaste that tastes like CHOCOLATE.  Yep, chocolate-flavoured toothpaste has now entered the market, shaking things up by claiming it strengthens teeth and regenerates enamel more than regular toothpaste. So what’s the catch? Well the ￡60 price tag might be one of them. The brand sells a lower-strength version for $9.99 but that’s currently sold out. The only version that is available to buy online is the $99.99 one (that will set you back 60 fine pounds!) That’s unless you’ve got kids then you can splash out on the new chocolate toothpaste for children (also ￡6) which they can swallow harmlessly - not that that sounds particularly appealing to us.  ‘Theodent Kids finally offers a solution to the "do not swallow" dilemma of children's toothpaste,’ writes the description on the website. It states that the formula is non-toxic and uses Rennou - the ‘revolutionary’ alternative to fluoride - which isn’t harmful to swallow. ‘The best part is that Theodent Kids actually tastes like chocolate and is SLS-free.’ But if kids – and grown-ups! – do choose to swallow the toothpaste, they’ll be swallowing their own plaque too. Gross.  We’re not convinced that incentivising kids to brush their teeth with chocolate-flavoured toothpaste is such a good idea. Surely it’s just one of those things that you HAVE to do? And besides, it might make them think that chocolate is good for their teeth and before long, parents will come home to kids scoffing their faces with a share-size bag of Maltesers because they think it’s ‘cleaning their teeth.’
