KUALA LUMPUR: It was not the usual raid on Chinese, Thai and Vietnamese GROs. Following a tip-off, anti-vice police officers on Saturday zeroed-in on a syndicate specialising in girls from countries in the Indian sub-continent.
Fifteen women, all in their 20s, were picked up at a posh restaurant in Jalan Inai at 12.30am Sunday. Six of them were from India, the others were four Pakistanis, three Nepalese and two Bangladeshis.

The success came after a tip-off from the Pakistan embassy after being informed via e-mail by the family of one of the women.

Bukit Aman anti-vice, gambling and secret societies division head Senior Asst Comm Datuk Jalil Hassan said three local men and an Indian national, who acted as a runner, have been detained in connection with the case.

The women were believed to have been forced to work as GROs after the restaurant's operating hours.

SAC Jalil said they were believed to have been lured by syndicate members with offers of jobs in Malaysia.

“We believe the members would recruit these women in their countries by offering them jobs as waitresses at hotels in Kuala Lumpur.

"Some were also offered jobs as cultural and traditional dancers. When they arrive here, the women would then be forced to work as GROs,” he said.

“We believe that the premise was operating as a restaurant during the day. Later in the night they would then offer GRO services to their customers,” he said.

Aku rasa mereka ini majoriti memang cun melecun tapi ramai rasa malu sangat sampai tutup muka.
