Adam Levine reveals he has suffered a lifelong battle with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and had to “see somebody” to cope. The 34-year-old Maroon 5 singer recently did a public service announcement for the Own It campaign, and he talks about living with ADHD on the advert. Adam doesn’t believe the neuropsychiatric disorder should be dismissed and he hopes his PSA will help others find support. "If somebody approached me and said that anything I said helped them figure it out - or someone came to me and said, 'I need help, what do you suggest I do?' - the first thing I would suggest they do is see somebody. See a doctor about it,” The Voice US coach told Us Weekly magazine. On the PSA itself, Adam revealed very personal details surrounding his experience living with ADHD. He said: "When I was first diagnosed with ADHD, it wasn't a surprise because I had difficulty in high school focusing. And I think now, people notice my ADHD as an adult on a daily basis. When I can't pay attention, I really can't pay attention.” Adam has also spoken candidly about his battle with acne in the past, as he was spokesman for skincare company ProActiv. Whenever he lends his voice to something, the singer wants to deliver an authentic message. "I like to always make sure that whatever I'm promoting or talking about or discussing at length, is something that I have personal, hands-on experience with,” he explained. "And this is no different than anything else. This is an issue that's very near and dear to my heart." Via: Entertainmentwise
