American Idol has been on television for almost 12 years, and after 12 years of being a profitable show, it seems like their luck has run out this year as they might actually finish with a loss. A new report from TMZ is claiming that the show will not make any profits this year after decreased ratings. Despite Jennifer Lopez returning to the show, and new judge Harry Connick Jr. joining the panel, ratings are down 26%. In addition to that, the show expenses might also be the cause of their lack of profit. The report also claims that Jennifer Lopez is being paid 15 million this season and Ryan Seacrest makes about the same about of money. They are also reportedly still paying two producers who were fired last season, and the newly built set also cost between 5 to 7 million. Despite the losses, the report also claims that the show will not be canceled next season. The show is currently in its 13th season. Via: Entertainmentwise
