Actor Adam Driver is in talks to portray a villain in the highly-anticipated Star Wars: Episode VII. The Lincoln and Girls star was first linked to the sci-fi film last year, but scheduling issues reportedly stood in the way. However, Driver is now nearing a deal to take on a villainous role in the JJ Abrams movie, according to Variety. Exact details are unknown, but the character is reported to be in the vein of iconic Star Wars villain Darth Vader. Details about the character Driver has been tapped to play have yet to be released. Casting details have been shrouded in secrecy, but rumours suggest Benedict Cumberbatch, Dame Judi Dench, Gary Oldman and little-known Irish actor Jack Reynor have all been approached about starring in the film, while Saoirse Ronan and Michael B Jordan have both confirmed they have auditioned for roles. Star Wars: Episode VII is set to hit theatres next year. 3news
