Amid the complaints of price hike, Prime Minister Najib Razak proves everyone wrong as he managed to buy a chicken at a price of RM1. Najib was touring in the wholesale supermarket NSK when he saw the chicken was offered at RM1. "I bought a whole chicken just now for RM1. This is a very special offer for only 1,000 birds," he added. As such, he urged the people to stop complaining about price hike as they have ample of choices to choose from. "If we can do some comparison, we can still buy our necessities at very reasonable prices," Najib was quoted saying by Malaysiakini. Najib noted that NSK is selling at RM6.60 per kilogram of chicken at normal day, which is among the lowest even when it compared to farmer’s wet market price. Meanwhile, Najib conferred 269 premises as the Fair Price Shop 2014 for their quality, value and good services provided to customer. Of 269 premises, 114 are consumer good outlets, 59 eateries while the rest are supermarkets including NSK, 99 Speedmart and Econsave Cash & Carry. "The award is to allow consumers to identify these outlets so that they can make informed decisions on where to shop," said Najib. Harakahdaily
