And the loved-up pair are so obsessed with each other that they speak on the phone “100 times a day”.

The latest revelations came from US sources close to socialite Lauren, 36, who is around 11 weeks pregnant with 53-year-old Simon’s child.

A source told US Weekly: “Lauren has loved Simon for ever. They started having an affair four years ago.

“Simon and Lauren are together. They talk 100 times a day.”

While the news will help end speculation that Simon has dumped Lauren, one woman who will not be pleased is Mezhgan Hussainy.

The sexy make-up artist, 38, got engaged to Simon in 2010.

The music mogul even described her as “The One” during a TV interview with Piers Morgan. They split in 2011 but have remained close friends and Mezhgan is due to join him on his summer holiday this weekend.

The allegations could also make Lauren’s divorce from her property tycoon husband Andrew, 37, even more complicated.

The couple, who have a seven-year-old son together, are currently trying to thrash out a divorce deal in New York.

Lauren and Andrew have been married for nearly a decade and she could be set for a 2million payout thanks to their prenuptial agreement.

Meanwhile, Simon is due aboard the luxury yacht Slipstream in the next couple of days. The crew of the 200,000-a-week rented ship were seen in a Mediterranean port preparing for his arrival with last-minute safety checks.

Simon is expected to be joined by his “harem” of former girlfriends including Sinitta, 44, Jackie St Clair, 54, Terri Seymour, 34, and Mezhgan for the month-long holiday. Despite being embroiled in the bitter divorce battle, Simon had something to smile about yesterday.

It was announced that the X Factor boss is the highest-paid television personality in America. According to magazine Forbes’s rich list, he earned 61m in the 12 months from June 2012 to June, this year.

His success in the States is down to American Idol, America’s Got Talent and The X Factor USA. Simon was joint No 1 alongside shock jock Howard Stern, 59, who is now a judge on America’s Got Talent.
