At its core, Soundscapes: Mushrooms is a testament to a profound adoration for mushrooms, coupled with an endeavor to faithfully transmute the visual into the auditory realm. What symphony does a Red Russula mushroom authentically resonate? The stem fractures like chalk, the gills crisp and papery, yet visually, these mushrooms emit a blushy red glow. Holly and Galen endeavor to amalgamate all these visual nuances into an auditory tapestry for each species.

The majority of these sounds were captured utilizing a DPA 5100 surround mic connected to a sound devices recorder. In addition, a Rode NTG5 shotgun mic, a RODE NT1000, and a Lom Geofon were employed to capture subterranean sounds.
