Actress Kristine Hermosa has filed for the annulment of her nearly one-year marriage to actor Diether Ocampo last June 10 before the Makati Prosecutor's Office.
The case was raffled Monday to Judge Rebecca Mariano of Makati Regional Trial Court Branch 136.
Mariano declined to comment on the case without the consent of the concerned parties.
Reports said Hermosa and Ocampo had no marriage license when they wed and they registered different dates of their marriage in two documents.
One document showed July 14, 2004 as the date of the wedding, while another document indicated it was held on September 12, 2004.
The case confirmed reports that surfaced in November that Hermosa and Ocampo wed through civil rites officiated by Mayor Tony Esquivel of Jaen, Nueva Ecija.
The two neither confirmed nor denied the reports.
TV Patrol reported that Hermosa's filing of the case did not affect her relationship with Ocampo.
The couple recently starred in ABS-CBN's "Till Death Do Us Part."
Hermosa reportedly auditioned for the lead role in the new teleserye "Ang Panday" but actress Heart Evangelista got the role, which would have reunited Hermosa onscreen with former boyfriend Jericho Rosales.

HOW come showbiz observers were no longer surprised when Kristine Hermosa filed an annulment of her marriage to Diether Ocampo at a Makati court recently?
It's because they knew the relationship was doomed from the start. It was reported they were married by a mayor in Nueva Ecija but they never got the courage to admit it in public. If you truly love someone, you'd be proud to proclaim it to the whole wide world and not hide it, right?
As such, when ABS-CBN gave them a mini-series, "Till Death Do Us Part," it got very poor ratings as the public didn't seem interested in them. Rumors of their fights started floating but Diether, during interviews with him for "Nasaan Ka Man," denied them, saying they're still together. But now, the cat is

out of the bag and we cannot really feel sad for them as they themselves should be blamed for what clearly is a big mistake, the same kind that Kris Aquino is doing now. Somehow, her own coverage of her meeting with James Yap's family in Escalante City leaves a bad taste in the mouth. As someone commented: "Parang siya pa ang namanhikan doon sa pamilya ng lalaki."
But no doubt it helped up the ratings of "The Buzz" which rated some points higher than "The S Files" last Sunday. Marriage is meant to be a commitment for a lifetime, but these people seem to think that once you to tie the knot, you automatically live happily ever after. Unfortunately, things don't work that way, especially when you act on impulse. Like our usual advice to any couple contemplating marriage, it's best to get a good marriage preparation program that will help you and your partner discover the real you in each other and thresh out all unresolved issues that might later on be sources of conflict when you start living together.
