this is moving magnet pre amp (MM pre amp)..we use it to connect turntable to our hifi set...1st you connect turntable to the pre amp..and then pre amp is connected to amp...your amp by the way has it phono amp istalled on board..i'll try to find you the DAC pictures..which amp is good?it hard to explain..but i'll try to point some views on this topic as we go on.. |

nope..we use this to solely covert digital signal from cd to be anlogue signal..thus improving your sound..your cd player acts just as a reader when DAC comes in to play.. |

If I get this DAC,
Do I have to change my speakers ? ? :stp::stp: |

Sometimes I really wonder ...
My Marantz CD player CD5400 which cost RM800 only can read CD with text!
Why is it equipped with so little function ?? |

dont look for function..notice that high end hifi has less function...you may find that some high end amp doesnt come with a remote control..some high end cd player has a manually opened tray..not motor powered tray like ours.. |

Capt is right.Dont always look for functions.The less the better in the audio world.That's why most high-end gears go for minimalist design. |

btw,I noticed the topic of this thread is rather misleading.It states amplifier then the discussion revolves around DAC and cd players??? |

back to our original topic..what makes a good hifi actually depend on its overall system perfomance..i pretty much like to suggest the use of bi-amping amp, bi-wiring cable, heavily drived speakers, good interconnects, and not to forget a proper isloation platform.. |

When I buy my Hi-Fi set...
My B&W speakers are only RM1900.
There is another speaker from Italy which is RM6000 a pair and it sounds magnificent if you play classical music.
I usually play rock songs so it's not suitable for me also too expensive for a newbie. |
