how would i approach this question, it's so simple yet difficult to answer.

okay my way of answering it would be:

at cognitive level/ thinking/ perception etc: i would have regret of NOT doing it ( it : refers to morally/ ethically permissible and appropriate context)

at the emotional level : again depends on your coping mechanism etc,  my answer would be the reverse of the former- it is when you actually come to the deep side of things yg this emotional factor will comeinto play and this is when you actually say to yourself -  i taka akn buat anak i macam ni. for what i have been thru.

spiritually : i would say , i would not trade off anything taht i have gained thru the rough times, really. The experience gained is priceless.
and i am thanking God for this. You never realise how strong u are and what you are until you're being tested. Honestly, really.

I would like to say something about regret. It might sound arrogant but honestly and sincerely for me regret is a useless feeling. Either I didnt choose it or chose wrongly; there's no regret in that.

I convince myself and when I did make a mistake or chose something that probably I should choose differently, I would never regret it instead I admit the mistake, I embraced it and learnt from it and grow up and make my life better.  And my life is getting better everyday and I never regret anything I did before but look at it as part of growing up.

I prefer not to use the word regrets in my everyday life WL, as I find that it can demoralized my state of mind

I rather see it as a lost chance, and believe that there is always a second one, just around the corner

& akibatnya (#3) - "regret of still regretting" - rasanya ni la yg paling teruk kot

rasanya, seseorang tu akan rasa regret bila dia xdapat nampak, dengar & rasa
akan hikmah sebalik musibah..

mungkin sbb tu la kot wujud konsep masa - kenapa kita xleh kembali ke masa silam..
supaya kita belajar.. supaya kita akur & redha.. supaya kita hargai apa yg kita ada,
& xmenyesal dikemudian hari..

yups.. menyesal/penyesalan is gud 4 us - sometimes.. supaya kita sentiasa sedar,
supaya kita sentiasa bangun, maju & perbaiki.. sampai bila nak menangis & seksa diri?
contohnya : kita terjatuh & kaki kita terluka - sampai bila kita nak duduk je kat situ,
menangis & menangis & menangis? mula2 maybe orang yg lalu lalang akan kesian & cuba
nak tolong.. but kalau kita sendiri yg refuzed & xnak tolong diri sendiri, camne gak kan?
lama2 orang xkan peduli - orang menyampah lg ada la! so, bangun la sendiri! mulakan lg
langkah & harapan yg baru sbb masa xkan menunggu.. (panjang lak membebel.. huhuhu)

neway - utk mematuhi piawaian tuan rumah, saya pilih #2.. "regret of done it"..
sbb #2 tu la yg selalu terjadi..

p/s : samada kita regret atau tidak, apa yg terjadi tu la yg membentuk diri kita skrg ni..
suka atau tidak, terpulang.. samada nak terus begitu (regret), or move on..

regret is a strong feeling to get one to improve oneself for the better so one needs only to feel the regret , learn from it and make all the necessary efforts to avoid getting into the same predicament again . So don't get overwhelmed by the feeling but instead use it as a stepping stone on your way to become excellent in life .
