2009 Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart
Introducing the Evo junior.

Mitsubishi抯 Lancer Ralliart bridges the gap between the economy-car-like Lancer and the ultra-hyper Lancer Evolution. The Ralliart uses the same 4B11 2.0-liter 16-valve turbocharged and intercooled 4-cylinder as the Evolution, but with a more modest (and estimated as of this time) 235 bhp and 253 lb.-ft. of torque. It also uses Mitsubishi抯 MIVEC variable valve timing and, get this: Like the Evo, the Ralliart will be fitted with a full-time all-wheel-drive system, employing Mitsubishi抯 Active Center Differential (ACD) with three driver-programmable settings: Tarmac, Gravel and Snow.

If that抯 not tech-geekie enough for you, how about the fact the Ralliart comes with Mitsubishi抯 awesome new Twin Clutch-SST gearbox (also as in the Evo) that allows the driver to shift manually via steering-column-mounted paddles. Or, it can simply be left in full automatic operation.

More aggressively styled front and rear bumpers, a dual exhaust and an aluminum hood with air intakes differentiate the Ralliart from the standard Lancer.

Basically, with the Lancer Ralliart, Mitsubishi is taking dead-aim at Subaru抯 Impreza WRX條ooks to us like it抯 a direct hit.

The Volkswagen Passat CC might be the so-called missing link between the regular Passat and the Mercedes S-Class-competing Phaeton, which had to be withdrawn from the U.S. market due to poor sales.

Slightly larger than the current Passat, the CC measures 188.8 in. overall, but true to its 4-door coupe styling, stands only 55.9 in. tall, 2.0 in. shorter than the standard model.
Although the Passat CC has fastback styling, is retains a conventional rear trunk. In keeping with the car's sporty nature, it has four bucket seating positions and a panoramic glass roof. European models will be equipped with a choice of 140 - or 170 - bhp 2.0-liter turbodiesels, while U.S. models will have a 200-bhp 2.0-liter direct-injection turbocharged four. An optional 3.6-liter V-6 will also be offered with standard all-wheel drive. In Europe, the V-6 will be rated at 300 bhp, while U.S. versions will produce 280. Among the new features offered on the car are Lane Assist, which unlike other lane-departure warning systems, will actually steer the car back on track; electronic chassis control; and a park assist feature that will automatically steer the vehicle into a parallel parking space.

The long-awaited, more muscular version of the Audi TT has bowed as the TTS, which features a turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder with direct injection that makes an astounding 272 bhp and 258 lb.-ft. of torque. This brawny powerplant propels the all-wheel-drive 2+2 sports coupe and two-seat roadster to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 5.2 seconds and has an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph.

While European versions will be offered with a choice of 6-speed manual or the optional automatic clutch S tronic gearbox, U.S. models will be equipped only with the twin-clutch S tronic gearbox only when it goes on sale here in November as a 2009 model.
The Audi TTS is the flagship of the TT model line and sports 18-in. wheels and a new headlamp cluster that incorporates bi-xenon projector beams with LED daytime running lights.
The car's suspension features many aluminum components to reduce unsprung weight, and the dampers employ adaptive magnetic technology to instantly adjust stiffness in response to road input. The driver can select between Normal and Sport modes, the latter lowering the ride height by nearly half an inch. Sales in Europe begin this summer with the coupe retailing for about $66,000 and the roadster for $70,000.

Quite like the design. VW is a very reputable company and they always produced good cars with beautiful design - solid and strong.

I have been keeping my eyes peeled on the 4WD - the Touareg although my wife is more keen on the CRV. But the Audi Q7 is very desirable.

The Mitsubishi looks attractive.

On last note: all new cars are attractive. Malaysia should try and put all cars over 10 years off the road. They are a menace to road safety. Besides, they polute the air with excessive CO and ugly to look at.

I saw a lot of Merc and BMWs , Porsches which are more than 10 years old still running wild in the urban area. Quite embarassing.

They are not classic cars but just an old piece of metal.

Cars are too expensive over here. Not many can afford to buy a brand new luxury car.
Pathetic looking old cars should be scrapped by not the well maintained old cars.
A 10 years old well maintained conti car is any time better to drive than any brand new Japs, Korean or local cars.

BTW, can you tell me Audi outlet in Kuala Lumpur?. Will pay a visit there one day. Also for Merc , BMW, Honda and VW.

Audi and Bimmer are located at Glenmarie. There is a nice showroom for Merc at Jln Sultan Ismail.
Not sure about VW. As for Honda, their dealers are located almost everywhere.
