– UTUSAN ONLINE

Mentang2 nak PRU keluar lah cerita2 macam ni. What type of roads dia compare? Dia compare highways and expressways je kah, jalan biasa tak compare ke? |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
itu kena tanya reporter the global ekonomy...
dia compare highways diantara negara2 didunia atau jalan biasa.....
kalau dia compare highways diantara negara2 didunia.....kita diantara mempunyai highways yg terbaik
kalau dia compare jalan biasa diantara negara2 didunia....kita diantara mempunyai jalan biasa yg terbaik
takkan lah dia nak compare type jalan yg berbeza...

Measure: points; Source: World Economic Forum
Definition: The Road quality indicator is one of the components of the Global Competitiveness Index published annually by the World Economic Forum (WEF). It represents an assessment of the quality of roads in a given country based on data from the WEF Executive Opinion Survey, a long-running and extensive survey tapping the opinions of over 14,000 business leaders in 144 countries. The road quality indicator score is based on only one question. The respondents are asked to rate the roads in their country of operation on a scale from 1 (underdeveloped) to 7 (extensive and efficient by international standards). The individual responses are aggregated to produce a country score.
----
Dah tu plak yg WEF ni dia tanya satu je question very subjective:
In your country, how is the quality (extensiveness and condition) of road infrastructure [1 = extremely poor—among the worst in the world; 7 = extremly good—among the best in the world.
Kira macam agak agak la je macam tanya orang lalu lalang nasi lemak Malaysia ke Singapore sedap. Wahal org tu pun x pernah rasa nasi lemak kat singapore.

Pothole plague: rain-damaged roads trigger thousands of calls for help
By Catherine NaylorJuly 22, 2022 — 5.00am
Almost 10,000 drivers across NSW have found themselves stranded with a damaged wheel or tyre this month after widespread rain caused more than $1.5 billion worth of damage to roads. Canterbury Bankstown roads have triggered 468 calls to the NRMA for tyre or wheel damage — the most in Sydney during July. Central Coast roads were the worst performers in the state, triggering 589 calls for assistance. Central Coast Council said it had repaired 54,000 potholes on its roads since March.
[size=0.9375]Potholes are causing significant damage to cars across the state.CREDIT ETER RAE Potholes are a key cause of wheel and tyre damage. Between March and the end of June, Transport for NSW repaired 65,000 potholes on state-managed roads in regional NSW and 10,000 in Greater Sydney. That is on top of the potholes repaired by councils on their own road networks. Metropolitan Roads Minister Natalie Ward said each wet weather event was worsening the damage and making it harder for crews to get out and repair the roads. The number of potholes in regional NSW has increased by 74 per cent compared to last year, prompting renewed calls for the state government to ease the burden on local councils and take on a greater share of the road maintenance bill.
“You just have to drive along any street at the moment and there are potholes everywhere,” Local Government NSW president Darriea Turley said. “The extreme weather means roads and road maintenance has become the biggest single item in council budgets.”
The rain and flooding in February and March alone caused $1.3 billion of damage to local roads, according to Resilience NSW, and $250 million of damage to state-operated roads. The damage from the latest rain and flooding is still being assessed. “Councils all over the state will need additional support from government to ensure that roads are not just simply rebuilt, but are able to withstand future disasters,” Turley said.
