Ni antara yg aku dapat...

Android 3.0 GingerBread Details

1280 X760 Resolution. 1GHzminimum specs
Release October

We’ve been hearing about the upcoming Android Gingerbread release in Q4 for a while now. And also how  the new Android user interface will blow our socks off.
Still, everyone’s been pretty sketchy about exact details of what’s actually  coming to Android Gingerbread. Until now.
Mobile-review.com’s Eldar Murtazin just went and spilled a boatload of  interesting details about the upcoming Android Gingerbread release.  Don’t run  searching for these details to his blog or his main site, you won’t find  anything there yet.
Eldar did all the spilling in his Russian podcast “Digestiv”.  It’s audio only, so Google Translate won’t help you much. If you do not speak  Russian, you’ll have to trust me on this

Her we go:
  • Android 3.0 Gingerbread will be released in mid- October (around 15 -16th), 2010. First handsets shipping in November/December – for the Holiday Season.
  • Minimum hardware requirements for Android 3.0 devices are: 1GHZ CPU, 512MB  or RAM, displays from 3.5” and higher.  (We all, of course, heard that Android handsets with 2GHz CPU’s are coming)
  • New 1280×760 resolution available for the devices with displays of 4” and  higher. (Anyone thinking about Android tablets now? )
  • Completely revamped user interface. If you want to get a feeling of what  Android 3.0 Gingerbread UX is like, check out the Gallery  App on Nexus One. The  same overall feel, light animated transitions, etc. Natively, through all the UI.
  • Android’s split into 2 branches becomes official. 3.0 for top of the  line/high end devices. Cheap, low-end mass market handsets will keep Android  2.1/2.2

dan aku ada gak google yg Android 2.3 ni adalah Gingerbread...hummmmmm....atau aku yg silap pemahaman...

dan ni lagi satu....

Android 2.2, better known as FroYo, is barely out of the stables just yet, but that doesn't mean Google is resting on its laurels with word of Android 3.0 aka Gingerbread being prepared for a Q4 release later this year. The crystal ball has become a whole lot clearer this time round concerning what Gingerbread offers, where among them a completely revamped user interface which is touted to knock your socks off. It will require some pretty beefed up hardware requirements though, including a 1GHz processor at the very least (qualifying devices such as the EVO 4G, all Galaxy S variants as well as the Desire among others), 512MB RAM, a 3.5" display or higher with support for 1,280 × 760 resolution. What is clear though would be the brancing off where hardware is concerned, since lower end handsets will max out at Android 2.2 at best, while newer high end Android phones should ship with Gingerbread.

ini kisah terkini

Just a few days ago we抳e heard that Google would release the Android Gingerbread SDK on November 11 (Thursday), and it looks like this may be true.

Alvaro Fuentes, a member of the Open Handset Alliance, has tweeted that Google is getting ready to update the Nexus One (the developer version) to Android Gingerbread 搃n the next few days.擺/p]

He抯 saying Gingerbread is Android 2.3, which means Android 3.0 will be Honeycomb, as mentioned several times before.

Android 2.3 "Gingerbread" not Android 3.0, and is due this week

Google's next Android update is Android 2.3 aka Gingerbread and not Android 3.0 as was earlier surmised, and is due to be released on November 11.

A report by The Android Phone quotes a tweet from Alvaro Fuentes Vasquez, a team member of the Open Handset Alliance. He stated that the Gingerbread or Android 2.3 update will available for Nexus One, for developers on November 11.
The report follows an earlier report by Engadget that stated that OEM LG Electronics is due to launch an 8.9-inch tablet that will be powered by Honeycomb rather that Gingerbread.
Also in October, LG had reported that it will forgo its plans to launch an Android 2.2 or Froyo-based tablet but will wait for a more robust edition of Android for tablets.
The reports however seem to allude to the assumption that Gingerbread is targeted at smartphones while Honeycomb for tablets. It still leaves the industry guessing as to whether Android 3.0 is the awaited Honeycomb.

Google's Android is now the second most popular mobile operating system in the world - second only to Nokia's Symbian OS, according to Gartner's third quarter report. Apple's iOS comes in third, followed by Research In Motion's (RIM) BlackBerry OS, and Microsoft Windows Mobile.

SE ARC
Sony Ericsson XPERIA Arc breaks free, has a BRAVIA Mobile engine

Sony Ericsson XPERIA Arc may not be announced just yet, but thanks to a massive leak we already know everything about it. The Arc runs on Gingerbread, packs a big 4.2" screen, implements various high-end technologies and comes into very stylish, slim and light body.

Lots of praise for a start, right? It's time to get into the details.

The first thing worth mentioning is the 4.2-inch capacitive display attractively called the Reality display. Previously rumored as being X.LED (whatever that is), now we learn it uses Sony's BRAVIA Mobile Engine, which does real-time noise reduction, sharpness, color management and contrast enhancement on the picture. It has 854x480 pixels resolution and is covered with a scratch-resistant glass. There is still no info on the screen type.

The next important thing is the 8-megapixel auto-focus camera. It uses Sony's Exmor R back-illuminated sensor and is supposed to shoot impressive photos and HD videos. There is a LED flash too.

Finally we should definitely congratulate Sony Ericsson on the excellent design. The arc-like design results into only 9mm thickness on the both ends and 8.7mm in the slimmest part. The XPERIA Arc body is quite light too - 117 grams - which is definitely impressive for its measures - but means there will be no metal on the body panels.

Sony Ericsson XPERIA Arc runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread and will be upgradeable to 3.0 Honeycomb when the time comes. The rest of the specs are pretty much standard - a 1GHz Qualcomm processor, all-round connectivity options and ports (incl. HDMI), microSD slot with 16GB card included and a 1500 mAh battery.

We also just received a screenshot of the XPERIA Arc doing the Quadrant benchmark. Here you can see how it fares.

Sony Ericsson XPERIA Arc

The XPERIA Arc should be officially announced soon on CES in Las Vegas and is expected to hit the shelves in Q1 this year. The price is still unknown, but it shouldn't be higher than X10's launch price last year.
