The Duck is an amphibious military vehicle which was designed to transport troops and equipment over land or water. The name ‘Duck’ came from attempts to pronounce their actual name which is DUKW, military notation which can be decoded as D for year in which it was designed, U for ‘utility’, K for ‘all wheel drive’ and W for ‘two powered rear axles’. They are now used in several places as Tourist vehicles

The 26th meeting of car enthusiasts amphibians in Switzerlandthe owners of more than 50 amphibian vehicles assembled in Switzerland, St. Blaise at the annual European gathering, held at the Lake Neuchâtel.
Here you can see the military transports since World War II, amphibious jeeps and other vintage cars.
Many came with their families, with children and dogs.


Briton Paul Foley came to the Amphicar, in the 1960s, this German amphibious convertible was designed for mass production, but released only 3878 copies.
- his beloved military truck Dukw-21 147, these machines were manufactured for the U.S. Army during World War II, a large number of them are still in use.
