Depend. kalo campur dgn hip-hop, honestly i dun like it. buruk betul jd bunyinya. Ibarat Malaysia cuba dibaratkan. Kalo yg fusion2 nie, element etnik tu perlu kuat. mcm Hatinya Tak Tahan or Nafas Cahaya. Tp kalo lagu asli yg origanallynya memang dah sedap. x patut difusekan. bak kata anon, mencacatkan je. mcm lagu Fatwa Pujangga dlm album Dayang. Versi plg annoying penah aku dgr. Rosak teruk lagu tu. Pastu lagu Penawar Rindu dlm album Sawo Matang. Melodi dia tu jd laen. tp x der la bunyinya teruk mcm Lagu Fatwa Pujangga tu. at least blh thn gak dgr. Seriously kalo nak fusion pon, at least 70% of the song is the pure etnik sound. |

Tajuk : wajarkah irama traditional dimoden kan? Fusion irama malaysia & rap/hip hop, sesuaikah?
Boleh. Apa salahnya dimodenkan.

I don't think there's anything wrong with that idea. As long as we're do not to call it Irama Tradisional, that's fine. Call it fusion or something.
I don't think we can just oppose such evolution with a reason that that would mencemarkan the music. As long as we differentiate the terms for traditional ones and the new ones, we're not mencemarkan anything. If they didn't decide to add brass and woodwinds to traditional string-only orchestra, we wouldn't have what we now know as symphony orchestra.
so I really don't mind that. It's creativity at work. |

aku x pasti apakah sebenarnya motif nak difusionkan atau dihip hopkan. Desperado utk mendapat kualiti yg tinggi atau desperado utk memikat hati golongan muda.
Aku x berapa minat muzik2 yg ada fusion dan hip hop nih....aku minat yg pure tradisional yg biasa didengar jer..Rasa lebih melayu jer dengar. Kalu dengar yg pelik2 ni..cthnya macam lagu K anie..rasa dok dlm hutan ja...heheheh |

aku rasa masih belum tiba waktunye! sbb zaman skrg masih ada lagi golongan yg minat irama traditional ...
Can they afford to wait until no one on earth likes that genre before they let it evolve?
that's what the record company has to think about, because they want the money. The more people like that kind of music, the more money they'll get.
But as an artist, it's not always about money (in fact, it shouldn't be the main motivation). It's about creativity. An artist doesn't have to have a whole lot of fan to produce quality work. Take Mozart for example. He wasn't as influential in his time, but he continued producing music.
Somebody has to start. Somebody has to be the pioneer.
What happens is usually very few start it, and others follow when they see the success. We never really see something brand new comes from a lot of artists at the exact same time.
Take Raihan for example. When they first came out with contemporary Nasheed, nobody else really did that at the time. And after that suddenly more groups in that genre emerged to the mainstream.
That's how it usually goes. One tests the water, then others follow suit. Nothing wrong with it. In fact when the genre becomes big and has huge fanbase, the pioneer is rarely forgotten, in fact, praised.

Personally, I don't like Malaysian rap/hip-hop. And I really hate the remake of Standing in the Eyes of The World. But that's just my preference. I don't believe that they shouldn't have come out with such genre. And I don't think they they shouldn't explore traditional music too. |

wajar & baiknya kalau suatu irama tradisional tuh dimodenkan....dpt byk tarik peminat yg muda2 cos ada campuran muzik2 terkini, lagi pun ianya more fresh sikit bila dah digabungkan tradisi gan moden gan syarat jgn laa ubah langsung tema tradisi utama yg asal
tp tak wajar lak kalau ianya ditukar, tradisi-moden, irama asal terus hilang, cam tak tau mana yg aslinyer |
