Baek Jin Hee out, Shin Se Kyung in. And I can’t throw the confetti. Yet.
“Fashion King” couple Yoo Ah In and Shin Se Kyung will mark their collaboration for the second time after 3 years in the SBS Mondays-Tuesdays sageuk Six Flying Dragons, directed by Tree With Deep Roots‘ PD Shin Kyung Soo.
Shin Se Kyung (The Girl Who Sees Smell, Fashion King) completes the final main casts by joining in the “golden line up” of Six Flying Dragons, following Yoo Ah In, Kim Myung Min, Cheon Ho Jin, Byun Yo Han, Jung Yumi, and Yoon Kyun Sang. 
Baek Jin Hee was supposed to be the leading lady, and her character will be having a love line with Yoo Ah In’s male lead. However, her casting fell through and the drama team quickly replaced her with Shin Se Kyung. Shin Se Kyung’s agency stated on May 2, that she was the writers’ first choice for the role. Duo writers Kim Young Hyeon and Park Sang Yeon, who previously worked with Shin Se Kyung in The Great Queen Seondeok (2009) and Tree With Deep Roots (2011), have asked her to join the casting from the earlier casting stage. Director Shin Kyung Soo also worked with her in Tree With Deep Roots. Although she was keen on joining them, she wasn’t able to confirm it yet since she was still in the middle of a drama shooting. Shin Se Kyung will play as Yoo Ah In’s love interest, a woman who can’t stand to see injustice and fights for those weaker than her. She’s the sister to Byun Yon Han’s character, a warrior who guards Jung Do Jeon (Kim Myung Min). New actress Lee Cho Hee (Who Are You–School 2015, Maids) has joined the cast as a singer who helps Byun Yo Han.
Will this pairing be able to break the “Fashion King curse”? *shudders* I pray that the writer team can create a really really ruellyyy great script and very very verrryyy great engaging storyline! For now, I will keep my expectation really really low.
Six Flying Dragons starts filming this June for October air date.
