Ljungberg - Wenger's style will always be remembered
"He抯 a great coach," said Ljungberg. "I can抰 say more than that and I think that抯 the best way to describe him. He抯 brought a lot of success to the Club.
"I wasn抰 here when he joined but if I remember rightly, when he arrived Arsenal weren抰 doing that great and they were not at the top of the table but in his first full season in charge they won the double. So he turned it around quickly and since then we抳e had great success. He抯 done brilliantly.
"He抯 quite open for everything. From what I can understand Arsenal have scouts all over the world and not just specified in one country. He tries to look at new players and young players and from what I hear there are not a lot of players who [Wenger抯 staff] don抰 know about.
"He抯 brought a lot of trophies to the Club but maybe, specifically, the way we play under Wenger will be remembered. It抯 a very technical way of playing and, from what I抳e heard, the fans enjoy watching it. Even the neutrals enjoy it so maybe that will be one of the biggest things people remember."
Ljungberg came off the bench during last night's 2-0 victory against Porto at Emirates Stadium. The Swede - like his manager - would dearly love to return to the Champions League Final and make up for last season's defeat against Barcelona. That heartbreaking night in Paris still hurts Ljungberg.
"Winning the Champions League would probably be a dream come true for him [Wenger] and it would be amazing for me," he said.
"Of course we抮e still disappointed we didn抰 win last year, I抦 still not happy about the offside goal [Barcelona] equalised on but a lot of people say when you come that close you feel a bit wounded and you have more desire to come back and win it. Let抯 hope for that.
"I don抰 feel that we have a point to prove. We played really well in the Final even if we are not happy with the outcome. To get to a Final is very, very difficult and to lose it in that way |
