Liverpool Plan Move for Talented Brazilian International Pair

Anfield side line up bids for duo.

Italian source Tuttomercato believes that Liverpool are eyeing up a move for two Brazilian internationals. The Anfield side are reportedly keen on Wolfsburg playmaker Diego, who is currently on loan at Atletico Madrid, and Lazio midfielder Hernanes.

Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish may well be looking to freshen up his squad this summer after seeing his Anfield side struggle for form this term. Despite renewed success in cup competitions the Merseyside outfit are set to miss out on a Champions League spot for the third successive season, which may well impact on just how much the Scot has to invest in new additions.

27 year old Wolfsburg midfielder Diego has been linked with a move to Liverpool before and the goal-scoring flair player has seen a return to form during his loan spell at the Vicente Calderon after a sticky couple of years at Juventus and in the Bundesliga.

Diego could well help add more creativity to a midfield that has struggled to provide ammunition for their front players and Dalglish is no doubt keen to bring in a goal-scoring presence to his midfield and the Brazilian international has amassed 98 goals in 359 appearances, a very healthy total from his position.

Lazio’s Hernanes is perhaps not as familiar a name as Diego but arguably is at the peak of his powers right now. The 26 year old is in his second season at the Rome club and has helped to push the Stadio Olimpico club up the table into the Champions League qualification spots.

The former Sao Paulo man has weighed in with 21 goals in his 65 appearances for Lazio, and has provided a hat-full of assists to boot.

Last summer Dalglish brought in Charlie Adam and Jordan Henderson in an attempt to bring some more drive and verve to his midfield but both players have failed to make an impact, hence the possible need to consider alternative additions this summer.
