I must say that Istanbul is a city to be discovered by yourself.Go online and get yourself a room at Sultan Ahmet area. Aya Sophia, Sultan Ahmet mosque, Topkapi Place,Grand Bazaar, Great cistern, mile stone of Europa, Obelisk are all in Sultanahmet. They are within a walking distance. You can visit all these places without a tour guide. All of them are very close each other. You can also use tram to travel very easily, we walked all the way from sultanahmet to taksim.u will see the hundreds fishermen on the bosporus bridge..dont forget to try the best sweets at esteclair and in the fish market try the fried mussles..by the end of a long day ,try hammam
1) The Grand Bazaar is closed on Sundays. Hours: 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
2) Aya Sofia (St. Sophia) is closed on Mondays. Winter hours: 9.30 a.m. to 4.30 p.m.; summer hours: 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
3) Supermarkets are open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
4) The whirling dervishes perform at Sirkeci train station on Sunday, Wednesday and Friday at 8 p.m. The performance lasts 1 hour. Get there half an hour early.
5) Topkapi Palace is closed on Tuesdays. Hours: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with extended hours during the summer.
6) The Blue Mosque (Sultanahmet) is open every day from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. but is closed to non-Muslim tourists during prayer times.
7) Dolmabahce Palace is closed on Thursdays. The English tour begins at 11 a.m.
8) The Basilica Cistern (Yerebatan Saray) is open daily, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
9) The Military Museum is closed on Sundays and Thursdays. Hours: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. An Ottoman military band plays in the afternoons, from 3 to 4 p.m.
You must take the boat which makes a round tour in Bosphorus. It is the best way to see both Asian and European sides of Bosphorus while the boat goes quite close to the shoreline. The boat trip starts from Eminonu (European side), but it also collects passengers from Uskudar (Asian side). It takes about an hour.
Probably the best and most beatiful place to see Istambul's sunset is 'Galata Tower', the oldest in the city.
Pickpockets are quite common in Istanbul just like other big metropolis. Especially on crowded public transports always keep your wallets and mobile phones secured.
Don't change money at the airport, the banks always take a commission. We found a little place inside the Grand Bazaar that offers decent rates and takes no commission. |

definately yesssss!!!
nak pegi lagi sbb tak puas.
tak dpt naik hot air balloon due to bad weather.
infact 2 hari kami cuba, tapi weather masih tak mengizinkan.
our tourist guide ckp tgh pertukaran musim autumn-winter, dats why quite windy those 2 days in cappadocia.
then tak dpt tgk the whirling dance sbb tak ramai yg nak tgk.
mungkin boring kot.
so, tak ramai yg pegi tiket jadi expensive sbb kena naik teksi.
takut ler plak...tak konfiden.
nnt kena bawak lari.....kahkahkahhhh!!!!
the grand bazaar pun kami dpt 2 hours ronda2x.
tak puas gak.
di blue mosque pun tak puas.
sbb kami diberi about 1hr jer for solat and taking pics.
pastu pegi ke hippodrome (btol ke nih?).
nothing much here, or maybe i aje yg xdpt menikmati sejarah dan keunikan tpt nih sbb hati masih terlekat di blue mosque.
apa lagi yg tak puas ek???
hmmm...., turkey mmg cantik sbb tu tak puas pegi sana.

majority yg pegi cakap tak puas sbb masa singkat sangat..agaknya strategi perniagaan tak?..supaya kita pegi lagi..sampai kini saya masih mencari pakej yg sesuai untuk ke Istanbul shj...kalau sesiapa boleh recommend bagus jugak. |
