because snakes are not very active creatures once their stomachs are fulled , they tend to linger around lazily  dah kenyang maka lepak laaa , only if the snakes can sense a threat in their surrounding then they will move away from there , hence the need to use the stick to produce some kind of sound for them to perceive it as a threat

same goes with the rest of  Tom's ( Tom  & Jerry ) Felines distant cousins back in  Savannah, ek? Nampak malas jer  and tak interested pun bila dah kenyang ...yer lah kan sama jugak lah kita ..bila makan Haagen Dasz ice cream pun .. takkan nak makan nasi lemak dah kot  kan kan kan - ni bukan berkaitan dgn sesiapa yg masih hidup or etc etc ..

hehehe masuk citer Dolly Parton pulak... my opinion la, from someone outside the field... i guess kita punya DNA ni dah hardcoded with an absolute timestamp. tak kira la kita freeze stem cell ke hapa, tapi that absolute timestamp tu tetap ticking. that's why bila kita activatekan cell tu (for cloning atau apa2), dia terus tua. ingat tak ada hadis nabi yg maksud lebihkurang semua penyakit ada ubat kecuali tua dan mati.. so, no chance to circumvent that la.
