Bini dia ni kaki glemer. Tgk tiap2 hari pun masuk celebrity news. Nak pergi tengok anak main bola pun pakai kasut tinggi. Nak pergi throw baseball pun pakai stiletto. Mmg cari glemer.
Tapi sian tgk Beckham. Bila berdiri tepi bini nampak benor dia mcm malu2 kucing. Tu sebab bila bini tak ikut ke spain dulu dia bebas se bebasnye.
Minah ingatlah, rugi dia pergi join Galaxy. Memang tentu dapat duit berjuta-juta tapi tak kan dia nak akhiri kerjaya nya kat situ. Kan. Pe cuba main lagi kat Europe. Mesti lagi terserlah.
BECKHAM HITS OUT AT LA GALAXY CRITICS
Sunday, September 03, 2007
Footballer David Beckham hit out at claims that his Los Angeles Galaxy side was "a pub team" and that the Major League Soccer was "a Mickey Mouse league," in an interview published Sunday.
Beckham also dismissed suggestions that the burden of travelling between the United States and England's international games would be too much for him.
The former Manchester United and Real Madrid star said he had felt when around LA Galaxy's bosses, manager and coach "how much it hurt them when people who don't know anything were turning round and calling the Galaxy a pub team and calling the MLS a Mickey Mouse league."
Many sportswriters in Britain have criticised the former England captain's decision to join the club and criticised the standard of the game in the US.
"I don't know whether it's ignorance or snobbery or whether it's that the people saying these things have never played the game or watched it being played here, but they should be sitting here now, watching us beat a team that's won the Mexican league two years running," he added.
"The standard is nowhere near as low as people have been saying it is.
"For a start, you have to be incredibly fit and physically strong to play here: America's a country, after all, that produces some of the best athletes in the world."
Beckham joined LA Galaxy at the start of this season in a deal reportedly worth 250 million dollars (183 million euros).
The interview in the Observer newspaper was apparently conducted before he suffered a knee sprain last week which will sideline him for six weeks, meaning he will miss England's two September Euro 2008 qualifying matches.
He admitted that the workload in recent weeks had been "starting to wear me out, to be honest".
But Beckham insisted playing for his country was still important to him, regardless of how much travelling it would entail.
"The Galaxy have made it clear that they'll do anything they can to help me play for my country. They know how passionate I am about it.
"Everyone's working together."
He also spoke of how happy his family, including his wife Victoria, a member of pop group the Spice Girls, was in Los Angeles.
"I can't think of many better places: for me, for the kids, for Victoria. I haven't seen Victoria happier than this in the 10 years we've been together," he said.
"That on its own makes having come here worthwhile.
"The house is lovely, the schools are sorted, the boys are excited."
galaxy obtained beckham not really because of his talent anymore, but rather his sport celebrity status. MLS wants to try to attract americans to watch soccer. soccer is having a very hard time to compete even with ice hockey in USA, let alone basketball, baseball and american football.
so far, MLS did accomplish their goal. there were over 60,000 people watching the game between galaxy and red bull, where usually they had a very hard time to even attract 15,000 fans on average.
if MLS wants to make it even more fun, they should lure zidane out of retirement. zidane may not be able to attract the fans like bechkam had initially, but he will have better chances of taking soccer in US soil to another level. they need to make the game interesting to the fans (zidane will give them that) as this will last longer than using beckham celebrity status (because once the honeymoon is over, it's really over).
NO TRUTH TO BECKHAM LOAN RUMORS
Saturday, September 08, 2007
As David Beckham recovers from his right knee injury, rumors have already begun about his future plans in the MLS and in Europe. Los Angeles Galaxy fans can rest easy though as Beckham has never once wavered on the commitment he has made to LA, and Galaxy president and general manager Alexi Lalas put to rest any speculation that Beckham will be leaving the club.
"David is an important part of our organization for now and for the future," said Lalas. "Any talk of loans and transfers and all that kind of stuff is pure speculation and rumor and not something we have even discussed, let alone entertained."
Beckham, before his injury, was making an immediate impact for the Galaxy and forming a formidable duo with Landon Donovan.
"He has been playing at a very high-pressured level for a long time now and he needs to get healthy," said Lalas. "We have this period now where he is going to get physically fit."
In a whirlwind six days, Beckham played three games on two different continents, with games in New York and at home against Chivas bracketing an England international at Wembley Stadium in London.
First suffering from an ankle injury that kept him out of action when he arrived in late July, Beckham then suffered a knee sprain in the SuperLiga final against Mexican side Pachuca on Aug. 29. He is expected to miss up to six weeks with the latest injury, and the time off for rehabilitation could do him good not only for the physical ailments, Lalas said.
"Once the season is over, he and all of our players need to get a physical and mental rest, and really be given the opportunity to decompress and evaluate the experience they have gone through," Lalas said.
Fans around the world might have to wait for Beckham to fully recover from his injuries before they see him play again, but once he does they can be sure it will be in a Galaxy uniform.
KLINSMANN HAILS IMPACT OF BECKHAM
Sunday, September 23, 2007
David Beckham's arrival has heralded the "big bang" that everyone in Major League Soccer hoped for, according to former Germany coach Jurgen Klinsmann. Klinsmann, who lives in California and is tipped as a future USA coach, said: "His arrival has made a huge impact.
"Suddenly, people who before had no interest about soccer are following it.
"It was a 'big bang' that everyone was hoping for and they got it. But the MLS is working hard on improving because they know they've got some way to go."
Beckham's US arrival in July created a media stir but was followed by disappointment when the England midfielder suffered two separate injuries that have left him sidelined.
"It caused a stir with the kids and with youths even though the people weren't really sure about the level of play in his club or in the league," said Klinsmann, who has been linked with a return to coaching.
Klinsmann quit as national coach following last summer's World Cup in his home nation, but has since been tipped to take over at LA Galaxy or the US national team, as well as high-profile roles in the Premiership.
His former club Tottenham have been touted as a possible destination and Klinsmann is also being linked with Chelsea following Jose Mourinho's departure this week.
Klinsmann confirmed he was eager to return to coaching, but refused to comment on rumours linking him with Stamford Bridge or White Hart Lane.
BECKHAM PLAYS AS GALAXY TIES 0-0 WITH DALLAS
Sunday, March 16, 2008
David Beckham finally appeared in Dallas as a member of the Los Angles Galaxy, but Dario Sala made six saves to help FC Dallas tie the Galaxy 0-0 in a pre-season friendly Saturday night.
Beckham played the entire game and did not register a shot on goal but did pick up a yellow card in the 87th minute for dissent. After the caution, the Galaxy captain engaged in a shouting match with FC Dallas players Andre Rocha and Marcelo Saragosa that resulted in Beckham having to be separated from Rocha by his Galaxy teammates.
The game was a makeup for Beckham's missed visit last year during SuperLiga 2007 when Beckham did not make the trip to Dallas because of an ankle injury.
Both last year's game on July 31 and Saturday's game were announced sellouts.
Although there were a few empty seats on Saturday among the announced crowd of 20,500, fans took full opportunity to capture Beckham this year. Flash bulbs popped throughout the game, particularly every time the English star lined up for a free or corner kick.
Franco Baldini, general manager for England coach Fabio Capello, was in attendance to watch Beckham and report back to Capello on whether the 32-year-old midfielder was fit to join the national team for England for its international friendly against France in Paris on March 26.
Beckham currently has 99 career caps for England, but was not recalled for Capello's first game as England's national coach against Switzerland last month.
Sala made a leaping one-handed save to stop a shot by Landon Donovan in the 85th minute.
Los Angles' two best first half scoring opportunities were a result of Beckham passes. Beckham curled a corner kick from the left side in the 17th minute which resulted in an open shot for Alvaro Pires, but Pires' angled his header wide right of the goal. In the 34th minute Beckham sent a free kick from 30 yards out to the baseline which Donovan headed back to Abel Xavier, but Xavier's shot from about five yards away was deflected by Sala.
FC Dallas did not have a shot on goal in the game.
