Barca face tough Champions League test at Bremen

LONDON, Sept 27 (Reuters) - Champions Barcelona face a tough Champions League assignment at Werder Bremen on Wednesday following their opening Group A romp against Levski Sofia.
The Catalans, with five goals in the bag from their home match with the Bulgarians, take on a Bremen side who are looking for their first points after losing at Chelsea.
Barca will be particularly wary of World Cup top scorer Miroslav Klose, who is expected to return after a foot injury.
In one of the toughest groups, Levski host Chelsea with excitement intense in the Bulgarian capital over their first home appearance in Europe's most prestigious club competition.
Levski will be without injured strikers Emil Angelov and Valeri Domovchiiski while Chelsea will be missing midfielder Joe Cole with a knee problem, although their talismanic England captain John Terry is expected to be fit after a back problem.
Inter Milan host Bayern Munich in Group B after a surprise 1-0 defeat at Sporting in Lisbon.
They are without suspended France midfielder Patrick Vieira and the injured Esteban Cambiasso while Bayern are missing England midfielder Owen Hargreaves who has a broken leg.
Sporting go to Spartak Moscow, who were trounced 4-0 by Bayern in their opener. Spartak have lost their last eight Champions League matches but Sporting's record is hardly better, having lost their last five away fixtures.
In Group C, the teams are all square on one point. Girondins Bordeaux take on PSV Eindhoven with playmaker Johan Micoud back after a groin strain.
Liverpool, the 2005 champions, are home to Galatasaray.
In Group D, Shakhtar Donetsk host Olympiakos Piraeus with both sides looking to haul themselves off the bottom of table after first-day defeats.
Valencia, who beat Olympiakos 4-2 in Greece, host an AS Roma side that trounced Shakhtar 4-0 in Rome. |
