Distraught Dunga quits Brazil
Dunga was "extremely saddened" after Brazil crashed out to Holland - and indicated he would leave his post as national coach.

After Robinho opened the scoring, Felipe Melo's own goal and the first headed strike of Wesley Sneijder's career saw the Dutch come from behind to edge past the Brazilians and into the semi-finals.

Dunga said: "We are all extremely saddened. We didn't expect this and we hoped for a different result.

"We knew it was going to be a very delicate, very difficult game, but we weren't able to maintain the rhythm we had in the first half in the second half."

Asked about his future, Dunga added: "We knew when I started that I would be here for four years.

"It's sad, it's difficult, nobody prepares to lose."

Goalkeeper Julio Cesar was as shocked by the result as his coach but told his team-mates to try not to be too downbeat.

"It's not the end of the world," Cesar told a television reporter as a tear rolled down his face.

"I just think now we have to leave with our heads held high.

"In Brazil people always put a lot of pressure on us. This was a result no one expected. Every game Brazil enters, we enter to win."
