‘Answer To 1997’ Eun Ji Won, “Idol Fans Have Become Comfortable”
Singer Eun Ji Won and producers of tvN's drama 'Answer to 1997' spoke of the changing culture of idol fandom during the drama's press conference.
On the 12th, the press conference for tvN's drama 'Answer to 1997' was held in Gangnam's Cheongdam Cine City.
On this day, Shin Won Ho PD, Seo In Gook, Jung Eun Ji (A Pink), Eun Ji Won, Hoya (INFINITE), Shin So Yul, and Lee Si Un among other actors attended the press conference.
According to Shin Won Ho PD, "A majority of dramas and films dealing with vintage and the retro style reflect the 70s and 80s. Those who cherish memories in the 90s entered the age of cultural consumption. In particular, we chose the year 1997 because it is very much similar to society today in terms of fan scope. Although I wasn't a fan of idols at the time, the activities and passions held by fans seem to be similar. However, the world has changed greatly in these 15 years."
Eun Ji Won commented, "These days, it's easier for fans. Fans back in the day were busy following idols every day and wore comfortable clothes for mobility. If they wanted to see the singers they liked, the only method for them was to go see them directly. Nowadays, fans can easily search for videos on the Internet. The hard work of fans in the 90s is quite remarkable."
Sechs Kies’ Kang Sung Hoon Turns in Letter of Apology Regarding Fraud Case
Singer Kang Sung Hoon, former Sechs Kies member, has asked in tears for favorable arrangements regarding his fraud case. Many are now curious on whether he’ll be able to avoid a jail sentence at the final trial to be held on September 5.
Kang Sung Hoon turned in his letter of apology to the Seoul Northern District Court on August 29. It was his last request for favorable arrangements before his verdict was to be passed.
Through his letter, Kang Sung Hoon expressed he was fully determined to pay back the billion won he was charged for seizing.
The prosecution, however, demanded a four year sentence as Kang Sung Hoon had failed to pay back the money he borrowed again and again. The justice department now has a choice to sentence Kang Sung Hoon to a jail sentence, or give him another chance.
Kang Sung Hoon has been under trial for obtaining a billion won from three people through fraud over the course of four years, from 2006 to 2010. The police filed for an arrest warrant thinking there was a chance he would go into hiding, and so the singer was arrested in March.
Sechs Kies′ Kang Sung Hoon Granted Bail by Court
Sechs Kies’ Kang Sung Hoon, who is currently undergoing trail for fraud charges, was granted bail by the court.
The prosecution demanded a four year sentence at the August 22 trial, but after Kang Sung Hoon turned in a letter of apology to the Seoul Northern District Court and his mother put up their house for sale, he was granted bail.
The final verdict has also been delayed to October 17.

Goo Hye Sun confesses she was a devoted Sechskies fan
Goo Hye Sun confessed she was a huge Sechskies fan.
On the 29th, the actress guest-featured on ‘Come to Play‘ and revealed, “I used to be a hardcore Sechskies fan. When Sechskies broke up, I was holding their balloon.”
With former Sechskies member Eun Ji Won on the show, MC Kim Won Hee said, “We have information that you are Eun Ji Won ’s fan.”
To the disappointment of Eun Ji Won, Goo Hye Sun remarked, “I did like all Sechskies members, but actually I liked Jang Soo Won more than Eun Ji Won.” However, she added on, “But right now, I’m amazed that I’m on the same program as Eun Ji Won. I even have signatures of all Secshkies members from when their movie ‘Seventeen’ came out,” fully revealing her love for the idol group from the ’90s
