SHAH ALAM: A 29-year-old woman was found drowned in a lake at Section 14, here, this evening. The victim is believed to have committed suicide by jumping into the body of water.
Shah Alam district police chief ACP Azisman Alias said police received a call from a member of the public around 4pm, who reported that she had seen a woman jump into the lake near Bangunan Darul Ehsan, at Section 14, here.
"When police arrived at the scene, the Fire and Rescue Department personnel were at the location trying to retrieve the victim.
"She was certified dead on the spot by medical personnel from an ambulance that was despatched to the scene," he said when contacted.
He added that the victim’s father had told the police that his daughter suffered from depression and mood disorders.
"She also often expressed regrets to her mother regarding her status of being unwed," he said.
The body was sent to Hospital Tengku Ampuan Rahimah, Klang for a post-mortem.
