Coronavirus tests of Prince Albert of Monaco have given a positive result. The Prince became the first monarch and the first head of state to have been diagnosed with COVID-19. Prince Albert attended a charity event in London last week which was also attended by The Prince of Wales. 62-year-old Prince Albert gave a speech to the nation on the coronavirus pandemic a few days ago.
The Palace's Press Service has made a statement as the following: "Coronavirus tests of Prince Albert of Monaco has been positive. There is no concern for Prince Albert’s health. His doctor, and specialists from Prince Grace Hospital Center (CHPG) are following up his health status closely. He continues to work from his private office. He keeps in touch with members of the Cabinet, his government and his closest partners.
His majesty calls on people of Monaco to respect his precautions and minimize physical contact with others. Obeying strictly to these limiting rules will stop the spread of coronavirus.
The Palace will continue to regularly give information about the health status of Prince Albert II.
