GETAFE
Pato 6.5 - One lapse of concentration destabilised his side as it came at a crucial time in the encounter, but he had already done so many positive things.
Cort閟 7.5 - Ensured that Rib閞y had a quiet night down the flank and showed his strength with a superb long run in extra time to take the pressure off the defence.
Licht 8 - Had a very strong game on the left of a Getafe defence that limited Bayern to very few clear cut chances given their numerical superiority.
Tena 8 - The central defenders were all outstanding for the home team as Bayern looked short of ideas with Klose and Toni well marshalled.
De la Red 4 - Whether the decision to send him off was harsh, the tackle was clumsy and was a professional foul which he should not have made.
Celestini 8 - Sat in front of the back four once Belenguer came on and organised the midfield with a very powerful display.
Contra 7.5 - A quite remarkable goal to put Getafe ahead and a solid performance that meant he thoroughly earned his standing ovation when substituted.
Casquero 8 - When Gete needed a player to take the pressure off them and pull the team forward, Casquero answered the call with his powerful runs.
Gavil醤 8 - Was also outstanding in midfield both going forward on the break and sitting back and preventing Bayern from finding many openings.
Manu 7 - After Uche's injury, the forward was left to play up front on his own and did everything he could to keep the ball for as long as possible.
Uche 6 - Did not really have time to make any impact before limping out of the action with what appeared to be a hamstring injury.
Subs
Belenguer 8.5 - An absolutely heroic performance from the defender as he came on to terrific effect, but was unable to prevent any of the goals.
Mario Cortelo 7.5 - Slotted in seamlessly and maintained Getafe's strength and determination in the centre of the pitch.
Braulio 7.5 - Made up for a miss that would have been long remembered had he not scored soon after. Caused the Bayern defence plenty of problems.
BAYERN MUNICH
Kahn 6 - Whether he could have stopped any of the goals is arguable, but as they were virtually the only real saves he had to make he did not impress.
Lell 6 - Was replaced at half time and replaced by Jansen after a first half that saw him not link up well with Schweinsteiger down the right.
Lahm 6.5 - More effective than his companion on the right in the starting team, but did ont cause the Getafe full-backs enough problems with his crossing.
Lucio 5.5 - Should have stopped at least two of the goals with his slip for Getafe's third being particularly embarrassing.
Demechelis 6.5 - Was more evident that the Brazilian, but only for the fact that he was given permission to venture forward at set pieces.
Schweinsteiger 6 - Bayern's tacticis did not change much after he went off, but given that the midfielder usually has several his lack of efforts was surprising.
Van Bommel 5.5 - Was not effective when it mattered as his passes into the area rarely found their target.

Battle for second place in Bundesliga heating up
Nesha Starcevic, THE ASSOCIATED PRESS Thu Apr 10, 5:52 PM ET
FRANKFURT, Germany - With the Bundesliga title all but gone to Bayern Munich, the battle for second place is heating up and the upcoming weekend could prove decisive - or make the chase even more complicated.

Four teams involved in the quest for the only other direct berth into the Champions League play each other, with Werder Bremen hosting Schalke on Saturday (11:30 a.m. ET, tape) and Stuttgart at Bayer Leverkusen on Sunday.
Bayern has a nine-point lead atop the standings with seven rounds remaining. No team has ever blown such a lead in the Bundesliga.
The Bavarians, who have 57 points, host Borussia Dortmund on Sunday (GolTV, 11 a.m. ET).
Schalke is second on 48 points, Hamburger SV is third on 47, ahead of Werder on goal difference. Stuttgart, the defending champion, has 45 points, and Leverkusen 43.
Schalke can concentrate on the Bundesliga now that it has been eliminated from the Champions League, losing to FC Barcelona 2-0 on aggregate in the quarter-finals.
Mirko Slomka's team has been unspectacular at home, but it has been collecting points even though striker Kevin Kuranyi is going through a slump.
"The game against Werder is equally important as the match in Barcelona was, because we want to be in the Champions League again next season," said Schalke midfielder Jermaine Jones, a rugged, versatile player who hopes to gain a place in Germany's squad for the European Championship.
"We are hungry, we want to play against Europe's top clubs again."
Werder finished the first half of the season level on points with Bayern, then went into a tailspin. The slide stopped with a 2-1 win at Hertha Berlin last week.
Midfielder Tim Borowski scored the winner in Berlin in his first match back from injury, but he then strained a thigh in practice and is likely to be out again. The latest setback could affect Borowski's already slim hopes of returning to the national team. He is headed to Bayern next season.
Should Schalke win in Bremen, it will have four points more than Werder.
At one point, Leverkusen appeared ready to challenge for second place, but Michael Skibbe's team has lost three straight games in the league and could have a tough time against the resurgent Stuttgart.
Stuttgart will be missing striker Mario Gomez due to a thigh injury, but Stuttgart beat Hamburg in the previous round without him.
Hamburg is at last-place Duisburg and could regain second place if the other two matches are draws.
"We are all close together. If we win, we could climb up again," playmaker Rafael van der Vaart said.
Striker Ivica Olic is still out with a thigh injury and midfielder David Jarolim and Joris Mathijsen are still suspended for Hamburg.
"We've been playing well but we haven't used our chances," midfielder Nigel de Jong said. "Sooner or later, we'll start scoring again."
FC Nuremberg kicks off the 28th round against Wolfsburg on Friday.
On Saturday, VfL Bochum plays Berlin, Energie Cottbus hosts Arminia Bielefeld, Hannover 96 meets Eintracht Frankfurt, and Hansa Rostock visits Karlsruhe. |
