Chivu agent slams Real rumour Friday 21 April, 2006

Cristian Chivu? agent has rubbished reports suggesting that he will be leaving Roma for Real Madrid in the summer.
Whispers had claimed that talks were already at an advanced stage as the Spanish giants look to tighten up their defence for the new campaign.
But Andrea Pretti has assured anxious Giallorossi fans that the rumours are nothing more than speculation.
??e been spending the last 18 months dismissing invented stories,? Pretti told Radio Incontro when questioned about the subject.
?t would only be right in these cases that the people who start these rumours, with a lack of professionalism, have the good sense to deny them too.?
Chivu has been linked with numerous clubs, but has always insisted that he was happy in the Italian capital.
The former Ajax ace is committed to the outfit until June 2008 and his representative insists they are in no hurry to start extension talks.
?e are not going to place any pressure on the club,? he stated. ?hivu has never asked for more money or a new deal.?
The versatile defender, who can play both in the centre and the left, is also believed to be liked by Barcelona, Juventus, Milan and Inter.

Roma captain Francesco Totti returned to the pitch today, playing 77 minutes in a friendly against Serie C side Cisco Roma.
A crowd of 3,000 ? including Totti? mother Fiorella and wife Ilary ? came to the Stadio Flaminio to watch the Roma hero? first game since February 19.
The Giallorossi hero was upbeat after the game, stating: ? tested my ankle in every way and it responded well. I shouldn? be scared if I play without fear I can do anything.?
Coach Luciano Spalletti was more cautious than the Azzurri ace, but also pleased with his speedy recovery. ?e came off when he said he was tired. He? short of match fitness but that? inevitable, we have to take his recovery day by day,? he said.
As for Il Gladiatore? chances of playing in the Coppa Italia Final first leg against Inter on May 3, the 47-year-old tactician remained cagey. ?t seems unlikely that he can recover for this Sunday but we?l see if he can make it for the Final.?
The match finished 2-2 with Roma? goals coming from Stefano Okaka and Edgar Alvarez.
