CRUZ DECIDES BOLOGNA CLASH
Saturday, 09 April 2005 20:07:27
BOLOGNA - Inter consolidate third place in the Serie A table with a 1-0 victory over Bologna in Saturday's Week 30 clash at the Renato Dall'Ara Stadium thanks to Julio Cruz's early goal against his old side.
In the fourth minute Cruz slotted home from close range after van der Meyde burst past Capuano then entered the area before passing square to the Argentine. Bologna thought they had equalised six minutes later when Igli Tare rose above the Nerazzurri defence to head home a Bellucci cross from the left. But after consulting with linesman Niccolai, match referee Stefano Farina correctly disallowed the goal as Bellucci was offside when he received short from Amoroso.
Conversely, the decision to disallow Andy van der Meyde's effort from a Karagounis through ball on the half hour was incorrect as the replay showed that the Dutch winger was in an onside position when he began his run.
At the other end, Francesco Toldo pulled off an incredible save from Capuano's volley on 36 minutes to conserve Inter's lead, and made crucial second-half saves from Bellucci and Meghni after the restart as the Rossoblu tried to claw their way back into the game.
But Inter ran the match well, created chances on the break, and substitute Obafemi Martins almost scored a second on 78 minutes when he ran on to a delightful through ball from Cruz then lifted the ball over Pagliuca but saw his shot finish wide.

INTER V AC MILAN: MATCH ABANDONED
Tuesday, 12 April 2005 22:46:55
MILAN - Tuesday's Uefa Champions League quarter-final second leg between Inter and AC Milan was abandoned with 15 minutes left to play, with the Rossoneri 1-0 up (3-0 on aggregate) thanks to Shevchenko's goal after 30 minutes of the first half. Uefa's Control and Disciplinary Body will decide if the result stands after investigating incidents which saw play initially suspended after objects were thrown on to the pitch, then definitively abandoned for the same reason after play had resumed.
Andriy Shevchenko gave Milan the lead on the half hour, his left-footed drive from the edge of the box giving Toldo little chance of making a save. But as in the first leg, Inter created more scoring chances and it took an excellent save from Dida to deny the Nerazzurri an immediate equaliser from a Kily Gonz醠ez screamer. Adriano headed wide of the post, Javier Zanetti and Veron both had shots blocked, then Cafu headed a Shevchenko cross wide at the other end before the break.
Mancini made two half-time changes, bringing on Mihajlovic for Cristiano Zanetti and Cruz for Kily Gonz醠ez, and was forced to replace Adriano with Martins on 51 minutes after the Brazilian stopped up during a duel with Nesta. Oba added zip in attack and saw his angled shot hit Dida and come off the post as the Nerazzurri pushed hard to level.
In an all-out assault on the Milan goal, Veron fired inches wide of the post then Martins saw a diagonal shot saved by Dida before Esteban Cambiasso had a headed goal from Mihajlovic's corner ruled out for a Cruz foul on the keeper. In protest, fans threw objects on to the pitch, one hitting Dida, which led to the match being suspended in the 73rd minute, then abandoned in the 75th minute after the game had restarted following a twenty-minute interruption.
INTER 0-1 AC MILAN (HT: 0-1, AGG: 0-3, match abandoned with 15 minutes left to play)
Scorer: Shevchenko 30
INTER: 1 Toldo, 2 Cordoba, 4 J. Zanetti , 6 C.Zanetti (11 Mihajlovic 46), 7 van der Meyde, 10 Adriano (30 Martins 51), 14 Veron, 16 Favalli, 18 Kily Gonz醠ez (9 Cruz 46), 19 Cambiasso, 23 Materazzi

here's a special article from Goal.com about Tuesday's incident..
Goal.com Special: Tuesday's Events And The Inter Ultras
4/14/2005 3:12:00 PM
Following the indecent episodes that brought to the Eurodery suspension many fans are asking themselves: was the action premeditated? Or was it born out sheer exasperation?
“We officially apologise to Dida, we had no intention of hitting him. We are sincerely sorry that he got involved in all of this,” said Franco Caravita, one of the heads of the Inter Ultras.
Even though this apology is important, the fact remains that Inter fans gave their club and the Italian football world a terrible image throughout the entire planet.
The Inter fans aren’t considered to be a very violent and dangerous element compared to other fan bases in Italy, even though there are a few negative episodes bearing their stamp that occurred in the past years.
On the 14th of December 2000 after losing 6-1 to Parma in a Coppa Italia match two explosive bottles where thrown against the Inter bus when it arrived at the San Siro stadium for the second leg of the tie. A lot of panic was caused by this terrible gesture, but luckily no physical harm was suffered by the people present on the bus.
Shortly after the above incident, the Inter fans committed an action very similar to what happened on Tuesday. Inter were losing 2-0 at home to Alaves in a UEFA Cup quarterfinal, and the fans began throwing objects onto the pitch. Also then the referee of the match decided it was better to send the teams into the locker-rooms before full time.
Finally, an incident that in Italy is continuously remembered took place, a gesture that raised enormous concerns over the actual ability of the stadium security members to hold back the Ultras from dangerous gestures.
It was May 2001, Inter were far away from the Scudetto that, a month later, would end up in AS Roma’s hands. The Nerazzurri were playing Atalanta, and in the second half of the match a motor-scooter (yes precisely a motor-scooter) was hurled from the second ring of the San Siro Stadium.
Returning to the derby incidents, Caravita explained that what happened on Tuesday was born out of a moment of exasperation, and was not a pre-planned action.
“Somebody started to throw flares and everyone followed him. It’s all because of the disallowed goal, the exasperation of the fans, and we couldn’t hold them back. The head-ultras tried to stop them, but they weren’t able to. The people were so angry that there was nothing to do,” he explained.
Caravita’s thesis implicitly throws out those reports that indicate the flare throwing was instead planned before the game to protest against the management and players of their own team in light of another season gone bad.
“This isn’t true. The images clearly show that the head-ultras attempted to stop what was going on,” rebutted Caravita.
This is the point of view of who lives the ‘Inter Curva’ from within. Many people who see things from outside question this point of view as usually when the head-ultras speak, the curva masses follow. Therefore the possibilities left are two.
Or the head-ultras lost control of the situation, or it was a protest that was planned way ahead of when it took place.
There are some circumstances that do point to a pre-planned protest. If the flare throwing began spontaneously why did things not get out of control outside of the stadium,
but instead just took place in those 10 minutes of folly? And why were all those flares present when everyone knows, the Ultras on top, that UEFA don’t tolerate any kind of pyrotechnic material during Champions League games?
Here at Goal.com our intention is not to sustain one thesis or the other, but just outline the opinions on both sides of the issue, Those of the Inter fans that say it all happened by chance, and those of the outside viewers to whom this all looked planned out well ahead of when the incidents occurred.
Answers will hopefully arrive from the institutions, who have already arrested some Inter fans that television replays showed throwing flares onto the pitch. All we hope, is that unlike many other violent incidents that take place in the Italian stadiums (ie. the Frisk incident) this time those responsible are found and jailed, if not these incidents will continue to take place as those responsible remain unpunished.

aku baca balik sejarah ultras di italy ni
baru aku faham kenapa diorang ni berpecah belah
even kalau nak sokong national team pun masih berpecah belah
rupa rupanya semuanya ada kaitan ngan sejarah hidup n politikal bangsa italy sejak dari dulu lagi.
contohnya...ada sesetengah bandar bermusuh ngan bandar yg lain sejak dari zaman dulu kala (zaman empire rome).
sampai skang pun masih terbawa2 permusuhan tu.
ada plak permusuhan berdasarkan politik...mcm lazio n livorno.
permusuhan derby mcm lazio n roma.
mcm2 hal... |

helo, lama tak post nie..aku mmg tak harapkan sgt pun inter qualify sbb mmg macam mission impossible jer lepas 1st leg 2-0. Just aku harap team main bagus dan dapat score goal. Ref Marcus Merk had a bad game. Gol Cambiasso tu patut dikira dan benda tu bole memboostkan morale player2 untuk game2 serie a akan dtg. Setelah 3 game berturut2 tak score gol lawan Milan, we need a goal, 1 goal at least. Then stupid german referee pulak..kesimpulannaya, Inter mmg takde luck. Forza Inter! |

Vieri and Recoba are amongst the players who will surely leave the club in June.
As another disappointing season is drawing to an end, Inter are already planning for next year. Massimo Moratti is intentioned on taking harsh decisions which will see a revolution in the squad as many players are destined to leave the club to make way for new ones. Vieri, Recoba, Toldo, Materazzi, Gamarra, Emre, Davids, Van der Meyde, Karagounis, Z |

Serie A giants Inter will have to play their next four European matches behind closed doors, UEFA’s Disciplinary Body decided on Friday.
The decision comes in the wake of the flare throwing on behalf of the Inter fans that forced Markus Merk to suspend Tuesday’s Champions League Euro-Derby.
In addition, if in the next three years the Inter 'tifosi' committ any further disorders, the club will automatically have to play another two games behind closed doors.
The Nerazzurri will also have to pay a fine equal to 300,000 Swiss Francs.
UEFA also decided that the abandoned match’s final score is 3-0 for Milan.
