[size=1.2em]A Virgin plane was forced to make an emergency landing in Bali today when a drunk passenger triggered a hijack alert after trying to enter the cockpit. [size=1.2em]The Indonesian air force said troops stormed the Boeing 737-800 after the pilot reported an attempted hijacking on its way from Brisbane. [size=1.2em]A Virgin Australia official later said there had not been an attempt to hijack the aircraft, instead describing the incident as a 'flight emergency'. [size=1.2em]A drunk passenger was arrested [size=1.2em]when the Virgin Australia flight touched down at the Indonesian island's Denpasar airport. [size=1.2em]He had been acting aggressively and was handcuffed by the crew mid-air, it was reported.

' [size=1.2em]'What happened was there was a drunk person... too much alcohol consumption caused him to act aggressively.' [size=1.2em]He said the individual was stopped by crew and handcuffed and placed in a seat at the back of the plane.
[size=1.2em]After landing he was taken off the plane and put under arrest. [size=1.2em]He said all passengers had been evacuated from the aircraft and were unharmed.

[size=1.2em]Earlier, Indonesia's Metro TV had cited an Indonesian air force spokesman as saying the plane had been hijacked. [size=1.2em]Hadi Tjahjanto told the television station: 'We got information that a 737-800 from Brisbane to Bali has been hijacked.
[size=1.2em]'The pilot indicated that the plane has been hijacked,' senior transport ministry official Harry Bhakti said on MetroTV. [size=1.2em]'There's an information that a passenger tried to get into a cockpit, we are investigating.'

[size=1.2em]'Then the Virgin plane taxied away, followed by the convoy of security forces. The flight attendant said it's been taken off to a different part of the airport. [size=1.2em]'Bali airport seems to be in lockdown, we've been told no planes will be departing or arriving. The pilot's not allowing anyone off our plane.'
