Shevchenko Unlikely, Eto'o Our Primary Target - Galliani
Milan vice-president has officially declared Barcelona striker Samuel Eto'o as his top transfer target for the summer.
Galliani started off on a cautious note, speaking about Shevchenko's possible return.
"Sheva was transferred a year ago for an important amount of money and I don't think Chelsea will be willing to sell him 12 months later," he said.
"In fact, 15 days ago, Peter Kenyon came to Milan's headquarters and told me that Shevchenko is not for sale. He also will not arrive on loan.
"His return is more impossible, than unlikely. Sheva is part of the history of Milan and he is saddened to have left."
However, he gave an interesting response on whether Sheva had told him he regretted leaving Milan: "Has he told me that he regrets it? I will not answer that."
He then turned the attention to Samuel Eto'o, the Barcelona ace who is the hottest property in Europe this summer.
"Eto'o remains our primary objective, but we will not disturb Barcelona until the end of the Liga season," he said.
"However, next season's squad will basically be the same as the group of players who have just ended this campaign. A few players might come in, one in midfield and one in attack, but we are in no hurry as we are fine as we are."
Finally he gave his take on Gilardino's situation with the club.
"I told him that the club would want him to stay," said the Milan vice-president.
"However, seeing as we can't guarantee him a starting shirt, and we didn't appreciate his recent interview, I have given him permission to leave - so long as someone pays us |

IMO gilardino should stay, he'll have a good future at milan..
Superpippo is great but it's unlikely he'll play at the highest level much longer, Ronaldo is injury-prone & Oliviera is simply not up to expectations..
so milan will need Gila more than ever next season..
besides Gila scored plenty of goals in serie A, he just needs to work harder to get the goals in CL as well..
but if he really goes, then it's a real pity.. |

No "Assault" On Etoo, Milan Assure Barcelona
Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani has assured Barcelona that there will be no aggressive chase of Samuel Eto'o.
Galliani's declarations over Eto'o yesterday did not go down too well in the Barcelona camp, particularly with two crucial rounds of La Liga action at hand.
In particular, quotes suggesting that the Milan VP was ready for an "assault" for the Cameroon international, and would go to Barcelona with the sole objective of signing him, have left the Camp Nou bosses unhappy.
However, Milan have allayed concerns, and insisted that they will take a 'softly-softly' approach, so to speak, and table theirt bid once the season ends.
Said Milan through a statement:
"A great club like Barcelona deserve to know that Adriano Galliani has read with astonishment this morning, what some daily papers have written in regards to relative phrases that have been attributed, but do not correspond to what was said.
"Eto'o is a Barcelona player.
"Milan will make an official approach to Barcelona when the Spanish league finishes, but without the certainty that the great striker will eventually arrive at Milan, as the Catalan club rightly have the final say on whether or not to sell."
It is being suggested that this came about after contacts between the two clubs, with Barcelona letting Milan know that there would be little difference between their behaviour and Real Madrid's over Kaka, something the Rossoneri have taken exception to. |

Eto抩 staying in Spain
Milan target Samuel Eto抩 wants to stay in Spain with Barcelona, claims the Cameroon international抯 agent.
The Blaugrana star has been linked with Milan since Adriano Galliani stated that the Rossoneri would make an official offer for him after the end of the Spanish season.
Eto抩 is also a reported target for Liverpool Coach Rafael Benitez, who is planning to significantly strengthen the Reds to make a push for the Premiership title next term.
揃arcelona know perfectly that Eto抩 is happy in Spain and wants to stay. There is a contract and we want to honour it, |
