Mercedes to re-design for Spa

Mercedes have gone back to the drawing board to make their car more competitive for this month's Belgian Grand Prix at Spa.

Team principal boss Ross Brawn said the floor, a key element of the new 'blown' diffuser that channels hot exhaust gases down low and out of the rear of the car to increase grip, was being re-designed.

"We've put some extra instrumentation on the car this weekend to get a better understanding of what's going on," he said.

"We can see some of the areas which are still not functioning properly.

"The problem we had in Hockenheim (the previous race in Germany) was the exhaust heat was affecting some areas and allowing them to distort, losing performance.

"So we left that floor behind this time and it's being re-designed and re-made in time for Spa."

Seven times world champion Michael Schumacher, 12 races into his comeback with Mercedes at the age of 41 and after three years out, has already said he was focused on next season while Nico Rosberg said that "we can see that we can't win the championship this year any more".
Mercedes, who bought champions Brawn GP last year, have been left behind by rivals Red Bull, McLaren and Ferrari in the championship.

Red Bull have pioneered the blown diffuser and also an intriguing front wing that appears to flex notably despite passing scrutineering, while McLaren introduced the 'F-duct' that stalls the rear wing and gives greater speed on the straights.

"We can see that the F-duct style rear wing we still haven't completely solved," Brawn said. "The two major technologies we need to get on top of, the F-duct and blown diffuser, we're still not completely there.

"And what we have now become more acutely aware of is the lower front ride heights and front wing heights that particularly Red Bull have been able to achieve," he added.

"We have to work out how we can do that."

ye 5 petak kebelakang.... tapi aku rase cam tak bebaloi je hukuman ni...

kene buat sesuatu yg lebih keras biar buat pengajaran kat

driver lain... ni kes melibatkn nyawa... tak xsiden maka tak nampak bahaye tu...

cube kalo xsiden.... kalo patah riuk cam ner.... tu nasib baik berat kilo

dapat elak cerve kat depan... kalo tak melambung kete dia......

Schumacher handed 10-place grid penalty for Spa

Mercedes GP’s Michael Schumacher has been punished by the Hungarian Grand Prix stewards for his clash with Williams’ Rubens Barrichello in the closing laps of Sunday's Budapest race. Schumacher receives a 10-place grid penalty for the next round in Belgium.

As Barrichello attempted to overtake the German on Lap 66 on the main straight, the seven-time champion appeared to move over on the Brazilian and push him towards the pit wall.

After a post-race investigation the stewards decided Schumacher had "illegitimately impeded car 9 during an overtaking manoeuvre”. Mercedes GP have accepted the decision.

The Belgian Grand Prix takes place at Spa-Francorchamps from August 27-29.

bila nak potong or pertahankan kedudukan mesti ada usaha tersendiri

tak kisah la lawan tu hampir eksiden

if takut nak patah kaki, patah tangan tak payah la berlumba..pondan je takut nak hadapi semua tu

if beratkilo terlanggar wall pun 100 percent dia selamat sbb kokpit dia lebih keras dari batu..

race semalam mmg bosan...tapi schumy berjaya buat race jadi menarik..

sometimes race F1 jadi tempat utk kasi peluang utk memotong tapi peluang utk pertahankan kedudukan dah takde

keselamatan pemandu lain... ko himpit kat wall pulak tu ade cerve...dalam keadaan

tak bias..

lama dah aku sokong cara schumy macam tu..even cara montoya pun aku suka

berlumba utk dapat tempat terbaik..pertahankan kedudukan dia..

now F1 dah bosan semua driver sibuk nak jaga kereta, skil memotong pun dah kurang menarik

or bagi laluan pada driver lain;)
