Cassano and Vieri on target
Antonio Cassano and Christian Vieri both opened their scoring accounts with their new sides in away Cup matches last night.
Vieri came on to score in the dying seconds of Monaco’s 2-0 away win over Toulouse in the French League Cup, finishing off a counter-attacking move that caught the home side out as they pressed forward for a deserved equaliser.
Antonio Cassano, meanwhile, netted just four minutes into his debut in the Copa Del Rey in Seville.
Coach Lopez Caro fielded a strong side as the Madrid outfit took on Real Betis in the first leg of the quarter-finals but, with the score goalless, sent on Cassano in the 62nd minute.
