I would totally agree with you, especially since the points you mentioned are also applicable to Singapore as well.
But I beg to differ if no one would help us (us as in us SEA countries)
Being at the center of one of the most important trade routes in the world which controls most of the oil that goes to Japan, China and Korea, at least one or two outsider nations will help if Malaysia, Indonesia or Singapore meet trouble. After all, what all the world cares about is OIL.
For example, Singapore and Thailand would not sit still and let Indonesia attack Malaysia or vice versa and let the winning nation gain a monopoly of the Malacca Straits.

Perhaps.

Going forward, I don't think all threats to SEAn countries will necessarily originate from within SEA.  I think SEA defence capabilities must be developed with that in mind.  We need to demonstrate that the region is not a vacuum so that no power is tempted to fight their battles here.

Those? The weapon chambers are guarded by US Marines and the rest are being used to store oil.

When I was studying they told us that the huge pools of water were sufficient to absorb the radioactivity coming from the energy rods.  Maybe oil will have similar properties.  It is denser after all.

Thailand and Indonesia already have nuclear power plants, or building(?)...

Besides, it can be debated that nuclear power is cleaner than coal generators.

yes very off topic. btw, Nuclear power provide 70% cheaper cost than conventional electrical power. That's why, during my study in France, the electricity is far cheaper than Malaysia.

depa yg aku maksudkan tuh gomen la, atau generally, Malaysia la, bab ni maybe ST atau sapa2 yg keja kat TPM boleh cerita kot. Aku punya majikan bab nano nih, ada jugak, depa bagi nano bonus and esos kat 90% staff. Cuma 10% yg super duper efficient jer yg perform dlm company tuh yg dapat super bonus dan esos,the rest semua tak layak pasai depa tak perform utk mengembalikan kompeni dari kegelapan. Nano bonus yg aku dapat tuh, pasai tak nampak pada pandangan mata kasar, cuma boleh nampak ngan super duper mikroskop high powered, maka aku pun tak leh la cakap, pasai aku pun tak nampak... esos yg aku ada cuma cili sos n tomato sos yg aku beli sendiri ...
