I think it applies to all of us in this world. I agree that u shouldn't judge a person based on his past but in reality, the very same persons who say that also pass judgement on other people based on other people's past or based on what he/she says or does. That's something expected because we live in an imperfect and complex world where it's not simply good vs evil; black vs white.
Valuing Outward appearance is something that is inherent in nature...healthy plants have glossy leaves with vibrant colours; in the animal kingdom, the alpha male reigns supreme and many females want to mate with the alpha male bcos generally, they want offsprings with good genes.
Among humans,the media is always promoting people with good looks...must be handsome/pretty,nice skin, well defined facial structure need not always be masculine/toned body but cannot be overweight/fat. It's unfortunate,so, I think the greatest challenge is mastering our own thoughts, feelings and voice. Check our intentions before we do anything and weigh the situation at hand before taking any action that might affect others. A bit rambling but my thots in general  |
