Saya dah one week back from Istanbul. Been there a week long since 31st May. My first time in Istanbul. Love it.
Keadaan kacau in Istanbul is only happening in Taksim square. Sultanahmet area is not affected. In fact life goes on and business as usual. We did not feel affected or realized as just remember that Istanbul city is a huge area 5000+ km2 and has 15 million of population. Like kawan2 cakap yang also baru balik from there, it is safe to be in Sultanahmet. Jgn pulak pegi kat Taksim Square. |

Bila baca kat seat61.. rasa cam nak cuba travel by train ke Rom... masuk Turkey tak payah pakai visa kan... kalo nak pegi negara yg berdekatan nya camne pulak ek... visa & etc... any idea? Saya mungkin akan travel around turkey by train... ade kwn di ankara, konya , istanbul & izmir... |

Nak tanya otai2 Istanbul.
Bila tenggok Google map, jalan utama (kuning) se-akan2 tamat di tram station Beyazit.
Dari Beyazit ke Cemberlitas Ke Sultanahmet hanya ada tram track.
So .... kawasan biru ini (termasuk Grand Bazaar) semacam ada jalan/lorong kecil aje. Kereta persendirian atau teksi boleh ke masuk kawasan biru ini ... atau ianya pedestrian walk semata2. Jika kenderaan tak boleh masuk dan hotel kita dalam kawasan biru ni, adakah kita kena turun teksi dan ambil tram (ataukena jalan) pula ke hotel?
Minta pencerahan.

Sy pun tengah cari hotel f ...
direct hotel tapi amek emel beliau through provider jugak (airbnb)
nak try jugakla hotel @aishahahmad cakap tu
kiteorg mmg bajet x byk utk hotel.cari yg murah2 tapi ok
sbb byk nk abes kat makan dgn jalan2 nanti
we will be at turki from 4-18 oct

Kerana kami akan berada di Istanbul dlm 36jam sebulum pulang ke KUL dan hasrat nak conqure Grand Bazaar aje, besar kemungkinan kami menginap di Star Holiday Hotel berhampiran tram station Sultanahmet. Ingat nak terus book tadi, tapi tunggu dulu ... exchange rate skng mahal lah.

kt istanbil airport atau area luar airport... apa yg boleh dibuat ye
sbb aku transit 3 jam masa pergi dan 8 jam masa return sok
kedai2 banyak tak?
kalau nk guna wifi free atau bayar?
kalau nk charge hp ada plug tersedia or kena byr?

Transporter,
jalan between Benyazit, Cemberlitas to Sultanahmet tu masih ada tram and taxi masuk & keluar all the way.
Benyazit tu tempat tram's exchange.
Also, Grand Bazaar Gate 5 is in that Benyazit area. Kat situ banyak tudung and shawls.
We did not use trams, we jalan kaki saja between Benyazit to Sultanahmet. Banyak orang, trams and cars guna this road and also restaurants/shops. Jalan between Cemberlitas and Sultanahmet is called Divan Yolu. Sini banyak locals and tourists. we feel safe jalan kaki and lihat surroundings. Bila letih we stop for coffee kat Starbucks and coffee shops kat situ. By the way, if you nak pegi toilet better make use McDonald kat jalan ni. McDonald ni ada tempat duduk luar kat atas. I suggest bila u letih boleh berhenti kat sini and have a break. Lepas tu u boleh sambung either pegi ke arah Benyazit and masuk Grand Bazaar through Gate 5 or ke arah Sultanahmet sampai hujung sekali where Hagia Sofia and Sultanahmet (Blue Mosque) are located.
Sebenar nya kalau u banyak masa kat Istanbul, say 4-5 days, just spend most days in Sultanahmet (Old Town area) and one or two days in New Town (Galata Tower, Taksim Sq and Istiklal Street). Sebab almost all attractions are located in SUltanahmet e.g. Grand Bazaar, Spice Market, Rustam Pasha mosque, Sulaiman Mosque, New Mosque, Blue Mosque, Hagia Sofia, Basillica Cinstern and Topkapi Palace and lastly the ferry area called Golden Horn. We spent almost 7 days in this area alone and did all the walking.

Kat sana nanti, try the hammam OK.
Tapi u kena tanggal semua except seluar dalam, bila masuk in the steam room.
After sometime in the steam room with other naked females (I assume u perempuan), one attendant will scrub you like there is no tomorrow.
Then she will taruh bubbles all over your body and massage you.
This bubble stuff reminds me of a car 'snow wash'.

Kat dalam airport past immigration posts, banyak duty free shops:
- Turkish souvenir shop
- Coffee shops
- Typical duty free shops (perfumes, makeups, ciggarettes)
- restaurants
- currency exhange counters
We spent our 2 hrs in the Turkish sourvenir shop beli their Turkish Delight, pine nuts, coffee, teas and barang2 Turkey and makan Turkish icecream.
We were not interested in the duty free shops sbb they are everywhere in most international airports.
Suggest kalau u ada last minute shopping before leaving Istanbul, u spend kat that Turkish souvenir shop.
Tapi of course they are slightly expensive than outside the airport.
Kat luar airport, se belum check-in and immigration........honestly tak se meriah in the Duty Free shop. A coffee shop aja ada but mahal gile. We cannot wait to go inside.

wifi at the airport tak free.
U can charge your hp/ipad at the coffee shops - jgn lupa bawa adaptor in your hand carry luggage.
Tak ada a dedicated charging station like in Europe airports.
Kat Dubai airport, banyak org charge their hp using available sockets. These sockets are for maintenance workers polish cleaning the floors.
Kalau u guna Airbus A380, u bawa your adaptor and USB in your hand luggage sbb A380 ada USB and socket in each seat. Boleh charge your HP,us eyour ipad or laptop. |

s282, Sy ni Capt America. Hammam ..... bila di Morocco aritu, tanya mat salleh dlm group kami yg gi, mrk kata ..... 'they beat us up', but it was nice. 
Thanks for the useful info. Dari Sultanahmet ke Grand bazaar jauh ke jalan kaki? I'll be in Turki dgn pakage for 8D/7N, the last day (full) in Istanbul. Then on our own, we'll go to Santori & Athens and back to Istanbul for 3D/2N. Masa nilah merayau sdn2.
