Hopefully Brad Pitt is getting airmiles with whatever airline he flies.
For the ageing heartthrob flew approximately 2,000 miles around the United States on Thursday, from the Deep South to the East Coast to the Midwest to the Southwest, all to surprise audiences at screenings of his new zombie epic World War Z.
The first stop was in Atlanta before the 49-year-old headed North to the city of brotherly love in Philadelphia, showing up at a theater at the King of Prussia Mall.

First, Atlanta: Pitt at the first screening appearance of the day, in Atlanta, Georgia
The intellectual thespian told the Philadelphia crowd: 'I just crushed a cheesesteak next door. It really is the perfect sandwich.'
From there he headed to Chicago and surprised a crowd at the AMC River East theater.
At all of the first three appearances Pitt wore his hair in a ponytail along with a leather jacket, a black shirt, black jeans and boots.
Curiously, by the time he got to Austin he had shed the his overcoat.
As special screening tickets were given out to screenings in Houston as well as all the other aforementioned cities, there's a possibility that Pitt may head to that Texas city next, making it his fifth city in the span of 24 hours.

On top of criss-crossing the United States over the course of the day, Pitt just returned from Germany with wife Angelina Jolie and their kids on Wednesday.
While in Berlin, RadarOnline.com has reported that Pitt, Jolie and the family dined at a ramen restaurant and tipped over seven hundred dollars on a one thousand dollar check.
Besides promoting his new film all over the world, the internationally renowned actor has been supporting his wife through her recent announcement that she had a mastectomy to protect herself from developing breast cancer in the future.
World War Z is adapted from the book of the same name written by Max Brooks, Mel Brooks' son.
It was widely reported that production of the film last year was plagued by production problems, script rewrites and reshoots, delaying its release until this summer.
However, early reviews have said the film is a worthy entry into the ever crowded zombie-film cannon.
World War Z opens in theaters on June 21.

Brad Pitt Brings His Star Power to The Star For World War Z's Australian Premiere

Hundreds of people flocked to The Star in Sydney last night to catch a glimpse of one of the world’s biggest stars, Brad Pitt, at the Australian premiere of World War Z. With his long hair in a ponytail and dressed down in black — his outfit of choice at the film’s recent European premieres — Brad arrived on the red carpet to excited screams, and took his time taking photos with fans who lined the entrance to the entertainment venue. His partner Angelina Jolie did not accompany him to Australia, but he was reportedly joined by his nine-year-old son Pax, and told media the country looks “even better than it looks on TV” for his first-ever visit.
After wrapping interviews and fan photos, Brad made his way to the newly-refurbished events centre at the top of The Star, which had a special screen custom built for the night’s screening. He joined director Marc Forster to introduce the picture but kept it short and sweet, saying, “This has been six years in the making. I see no more reason to muck about — let’s get this party started.” The room was also filled with plenty of Australia’s famous faces, including Reece Mastin and Rhiannon Fish, Fitzy and Wippa, Brenna Harding, Emma Birdsall, and newly-engaged couple Nikki Phillips and Dane Rumble. World War Z is out on June 20.

Joan Rivers has an opinion on just about everything—and Angelina Jolie's recent admission that she underwent a preventive double mastectomy is no exception.
"I think what she did is absolutely, incredibly brave and wonderful for women and women's self-image," the 80-year-old entertainer and Fashion Police host said in an exclusive sit-down with E! News.
"For all these women that are going through this and going, 'Oh my God, I am not a woman anymore,' here is one of the most beautiful women in the world saying, 'This is what I have done, and I am still Angelina Jolie,'" Rivers gushed about the Oscar winner.
"She is someone every woman can look up to, saying, 'If she can do it, I can do it,'" the usually far-more-critical comedian continued.
But then the Joan we rely on for our weekly dose of starlet-skewering reappeared.
"It affected me so much I took three jokes out about her in my act. Do you understand how upsetting that is?" she groaned. "That dumb bitch. Those big, stupid vagina lips. And now I can't say anything!"
But, on a more serious note, Rivers acknowledges that having one's health is pretty much the thing to be grateful for.
"I am very, very lucky," she said. "I am 80 years old and I have—big deal—a bad knee, but that goes back to hockey in elementary school...But I am very lucky, very healthy.
"So I walk out of here and I drop dead, this would be my last interview," she cracked. "You could sell it for a fortune."

The actress proudly displayed the quartz bracelet her fiancé designed especially for her along with diamond earrings matching her engagement ring.
Jolie wore a gift from Pitt, a five-row white quartz bracelet that he gave her for Christmas in 2011.
Brad Pitt's love for Angelina Jolie is out of this world.
The 38-year-old actress wore a five-row, sparkling white quartz bracelet to the Berlin "World War Z" premiere Tuesday, which Pitt helped design especially for her, reports E! News.
Pitt got input from Jolie’s personal jeweler, Robert Procop, when getting the bracelet designed.
Although he gifted her with the special symbol of his affection for Christmas in 2011, it was the first time Jolie wore it publically.
Pitt, 49, composed the piece alongside her personal jeweler, Robert Procop, in order to get it just right.
Jolie was also adorned with diamond earrings her fiancé gave her, which were designed to match her engagement ring.
Pitt’s design will be added to the Style of Jolie jewelry collection, which will be available in China and select U.S. locations this fall.
But his architectural debut didn't come out of nowhere. Pitt was inspired by his lady's previous creations - - a pendant she had made for him.
Now, she takes her loving display of admiration for his generosity one step further by adding Pitt's bracelet design to her Style of Jolie jewelry collection, which will become available this fall in China and select locations throughout the U.S.
