Solskjaer over the moon
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was predictably delighted after scoring his first goal since September 2003 against Charlton.
The Norwegian striker, bedevilled by injury in recent years, came off the bench to wrap up United's 3-0 win at The Valley, and he admitted that the strike had been a dream come true.
"I've waited a long, long, long, long, long time for that," he told MUTV. "To celebrate with the fans after scoring has been one of my aims over the last few years.
"Maybe in my dreams it was at Old Trafford, but it doesn't really matter."
Solskjaer's goal prompted pandemonium among the United support, who had seen him thwarted at close range by Addicks goalkeeper Scott Carson minutes earlier.
"Louis put the goal on a plate for me after Michael (Carrick) had tried before," admitted Ole. "I should have scored but the thoughts were running through my mind.
"They were on the second one as well. 'Is he going to come and save it?' But thankfully it went in. That's that over and done with and I can look forward again now.
"That's one on the board. That was the important one for me personally."
After savouring his moment with the travelling fans, Solskjaer was quick to give thanks for the unerring support both they and the Club have shown him throughout his
