BARCELONA, January 28 (Primera Liga) - Barcelona left it late to beat Celta Vigo and move back to the top of the Primera Liga on Sunday night.

Goals from Javier Saviola, Ronaldinho and substitute Ludovic Giuly gave the Spanish champions a hard-earned victory and sees them stay one point clear of Sevilla.

Nene pulled a goal back for Celta from the spot midway through the second period, but it was not enough to prevent a fourth straight Primera Liga defeat.

The Catalan side, jeered by their own fans after last week's pedestrian victory over Gimnastic Tarragona, came out with a point to prove and totally dominated the first half.

Barcelona midfielder Xavi claims Manchester United have spoken to his agent about a possible switch to Old Trafford.

The 27-year-old Spain international is under contract at the Nou Camp until 2010 but, according to the player, he is a target for the Barclays Premiership leaders - although United have distanced themselves from Xavi's claims.

'It's true that the contact arrived with my agent Ivan Corretja to play for United but I have a contract with Barca and we have demanded that this (contact) was with the club,' Xavi told Barga TV.

'After that, I do not know what has happened between the clubs.'

United, who have been linked with a move for Xavi in the past, have been looking to strengthen their midfield during the transfer window but appear to have been thwarted in their bid to sign Owen Hargreaves from Bayern Munich.

One rumour is that United winger Cristiano Ronaldo will be used in a possible part-exchange for Xavi, a suggestion the Barca player admits he is aware of.

He added: 'In England, there's a rumour about a possible exchange between Cristiano Ronaldo and myself but I do not know of anything formally that has ever been discussed.'
