News has recently emerged that the Euro 2008 winner is not keen on a move to the Premier League, as reported by the Daily Mail.
His agent, Julio Llorente, has confirmed this exclusively to Sky Sports Newsthat Manchester United made a formal approach for the player and wererebuffed, with the young midfielder thought to be certain to start theseason with Valencia.
"Manchester United have made an offer forDavid Silva, but Valencia have turned it down and that is because ofthe player's wishes," Llorente said.
"He wants to stay in Spain.We can confirm he will be starting the season in Valencia, and if doesever make a move, it won't be to the Premier League."
It wasalso revealed that the player is happy in Spain as his family aresettled and would therefore only consider a move to Real Madrid orBarcelona, with the latter strongly linked for a big-money move for the22-year-old. This also rules out the remote possibility that RafaBenitez was set to raid his former club for the youngster and bring himto Liverpool.
It has not yet been revealed what the nature ofUnited's offer was, but as Madrid's dealings are over for the summer,it will now be just Barcelona left in the running for the versatileprodigy, although Los Che remain as confident as ever they will keepthe player at the club.
