Grp D: Real Madrid 3-0 Ajax
Real Madrid made it two wins from two in Champions League Group D with a clinical dismissal of Ajax at the Bernabeu.
After opening with a laboured 1-0 win over Dinamo Zagreb on matchday one, Jose Mourinho's men looked more in the mood on Tuesday night and eased to the three points thanks to goals by Cristiano Ronaldo, Kaka and Karim Benzema.
The result was perhaps a touch harsh on an Ajax side who matched their hosts for large swathes of the first half, but Madrid's clinical finishing proved the difference.
The Dutch side started brightly and had a shot on target inside the first minute, Christian Eriksen taking aim from just outside the area to force a good parry from Iker Casillas.
Eriksen took another punt from distance on seven minutes but this time fired high into the Bernabeu stands, while two minutes later Benzema did likewise for the hosts at the other end.
Casillas was again called on to preserve his clean sheet on 15 minutes when Siem De Jong struck a volleyed effort from inside the area, the Madrid goalkeeper reacting well to make an instinctive stop.
Madrid were struggling to put their stamp on the game but nearly went ahead against the run of play three minutes later, Mesut Ozil pulling the ball back for Benzema to fire a low shot wide of the far post.
The chance appeared to galvanise the hosts, and moments later Ajax goalkeeper Kenneth Vermeer saved at the feet of Ronaldo after the Portuguese had been played clean through.
With 25 minutes on the clock the hosts went ahead, and it was no more than just reward for an improved spell of possession.
Kaka and Ozil combined well in the build-up, and after the ball was swept out to Benzema, the Frenchman delivered a perfect cross for Ronaldo to tuck home.
Despite settling well after going behind, Ajax conceded again four minutes before the break.
Xabi Alonso fired a long ball down field for Ronaldo to tee up Kaka, and the Brazilian showed all of his class as he fired home low into the right corner.
Ajax would have felt aggrieved to be down at the break after matching Mourinho's troops in the opening 45 minutes, and their mood darkened further on 49 minutes when Benzema made it three.
Another Alonso punt downfield did the damage, Alvaro Arbeloa collecting the ball and finding Kaka, who in turn set up Benzema for a cool finish beyond the helpless Vermeer.
De Jong and Eriksen had further chances for Ajax as the visitors strove to find a way back into the match, but the Madrid goal held firm.
The closest Ajax came to getting on the scoresheet came eight minutes from time when Eriksen's free-kick found the head of Jan Vertonghen but Casillas was equal to the task, making a brilliant stop to turn the ball round for a corner.
The win sees Madrid maintain their two-point gap to Lyon at the summit of the group, while Ajax are third on one point and will be desperate for their first win of the group phase when they face Dinamo in Zagreb on matchday three. |

Grp D: Real Madrid 4-0 Lyon
Real Madrid powered to a convincing Champions League win over Lyon after a dominant display at the Bernabeu.
Karim Benzema headed the opening goal in the 18th minute before Sami Khedira added the second just after the break.
An own goal by Lyon goalkeeper Hugo Lloris gave Real a commanding lead before Sergio Ramos hammered home the fourth nine minutes before the final whistle.
The result keeps Real firmly at the top of Group D with three wins from three, while Lyon, who had not conceded a goal in their European campaign before Tuesday night, are now level on points with Ajax who beat Dinamo Zagreb 2-0. |

Malaga 0-4 Real Madrid
Cristiano Ronaldo struck a first-half hat-trick - his third La Liga treble of the season - as Real Madrid romped to victory over Malaga at La Rosaleda.
Ronaldo had not scored in his previous three Madrid matches but he brought that mini-drought to an end in some style with goals in the 23rd, 28th and 38th minutes to take his tally to 10 in La Liga this season.
Gonzalo Higuain also continued his good recent goalscoring form with Madrid's opener as Jose Mourinho's side made it six wins on the trot in all competitions, during which run they have scored 25 times. |

Real Madrid 3-0 Villarreal
Real Madrid eased to a comfortable win against Villarreal in their La Liag clash thanks to a breathtaking first-half performance at the Bernabeu.
Karim Benzema scored Real's first in the seventh minute before Kaka and Angel Di Maria found the back of the net as Jose Mourinho's side completely overran Villarreal in a dominant opening period.
The win means the nine-time European champions have now taken their tally of home wins under Mourinho to 30 from 35 games and they moved into second in the overall standings, one point behind leaders Levante.
Villarreal slipped two places into 18th and into the relegation zone.
The game started at a blistering pace and Real had a goal ruled out almost immediately when Cristiano Ronaldo's free-kick found Sergio Ramos in the area but the defender's strike was chalked off for offside.
Di Maria then clipped the ball in towards Benzema seconds later but his shot just went wide.
But Benzema did open the scoring in the fifth minute, when the visitors failed to deal with Real's scorching pace.
Di Maria fired an inch-perfect long pass from the right and picked out the onrushing striker in the area, and he beat the last man and lobbed his shot over Diego Lopez.
Ronaldo was unlucky to double Real's lead a minute later when he whipped a shot across the face of Lopez's goal as the hosts dominated both territory and possession.
However, Kaka did add the second in the 11th minute after some quick passing at the edge of the box set up the Brazilian who coolly fired low past Lopez.
Some stunning skill from Marcelo almost set Benzema up for his second in the 25th minute, but Real found their third on the half-hour after a fantastic counter-attacking move which resulted in Di Maria calmly slotting the ball past Lopez.
Villarreal did have some chances but they rarely troubled Real goalkeeper Iker Casillas.
After the break, Xabi Alonso fired a testing free-kick into the area as Real picked up where they left off, but Ronaldo was flagged offside and a chance went begging.
But then Villarreal started to up the pace and managed to keep Real's potent attacking threat under wraps as Mourinho resisted resting key players ahead of the weekend game against Real Sociedad until well into the second-half.
Real lost a little momentum as the second-half progressed, but Villarreal were unable to break down a rock-solid defence that has only conceded four goals in its last 10 games in all competitions. |

'Kami hanya kurang bernasib baik'

MOURINHO (kiri) memerhatikan Lionel Messi (tengah) mudah mengatasi halangan Marcelo ketika kedua-dua pasukan bertemu dalam aksi El-Clasico di Bernabue kelmarin.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- Reuters |

Sevilla 2-6 Real Madrid
Cristiano Ronaldo's hat-trick led Real Madrid to a thumping win at Sevilla as Jose Mourinho's side stormed back to the top of La Liga.
The Portugal forward scored twice and Jose Maria Callejon was credited with the second as Real responded to last weekend's 3-1 Clasico loss at home to Barcelona by taking a 3-0 first-half lead, though Pepe was sent off shortly before the break.
The impressive Angel Di Maria added the fourth and, after Jesus Navas pulled a goal back but Sevilla's Manu Del Moral followed Pepe in seeing red, Ronaldo netted his 111th goal in 112 appearances for the club from a penalty and Hamit Altintop and Alvaro Negredo traded late goals. |

Real Mallorca 1-2 Real Madrid
Jose Maria Callejon struck a late winner as Real Madrid fought back from a half-time deficit to beat Real Mallorca 2-1.
The victory provisionally moved Madrid eight points clear of Barcelona at the top of the La Liga standings.
Mallorca had looked on course to claim a shock win after Tomer Hemed gave them a 39th-minute lead but Madrid drew level through substitute Gonzalo Higuain 18 minutes from time before Callejon netted an 84th-minute winner for Jose Mourinho's men.
The victory was Madrid's 22nd in their last 23 competitive matches and lifted them further clear of Barca, who play Real Betis on Sunday. |
