Bila nafsu mendahului akal, kesian kat anak2 jadi mangsa keadaan. 52 tahun, gigih lagi nak jaga anak kecik. Patutnya, umur2 mcm ni tggu masa je nak menuai hasil.

GEORGE TOWN: A family of four who were evicted from their one-room rented flat unit and were forced to sleep on the fifth-floor corridor of the flats can look forward to a better New Year.

Just days after netizens slammed the owner of a flat unit as heartless for evicting his tenant, two Good Samaritans have come forward with one offering his empty unit at another block in the Rifle Range Flats and another offering to pay a year’s rental.

Odd job worker Looi Say Chye (pic), 52, his wife and two kids were evicted from their rented home in Block F of the flats on Dec 25 for failing to pay three months’ rental.

With nowhere to go, the family was forced to sleep along the corridor on the fifth floor of the flats with their belongings. They were later offered temporary shelter at Kebun Bunga assemblyman Cheah Kah Peng’s service centre in Rifle Range.


Talks with the owner to allow the family back in with a year’s rental proved futile when he refused the offer.

He did not come out of the house during the press conference held by Cheah at the flats yesterday.

Looi, who suffered a stroke six years ago, has not been able to find any employment due to limited movement in his right arm.

His Indonesian wife Umiyati, 43, works as a dishwasher in nearby restaurants.

“I just wanted shelter for my family and I am really grateful for all the help rendered by the kind people,” said Looi.

Khor’s friend, who wanted to be known as Albert said his friend’s unit had been empty for some time and he immediately called him to arrange for the unit to be given to Looi’s family.

Cheah said the Rifle Range Village Security and Development Committee (JKKK) would help raise funds for the family and he would look into helping the children continue their education.

“Looi’s daughter Cindy is eight and should have been in primary two, but has not been registered in any school.”

Ikut undang2 mmg lah owner berhak atas properties tu...tp nak amik balik bukan semudah pegi masuk guna kunci pendua halau or buang barang2 penyewa......penyewa bleh dakwa tuan rumah menceroboh....ada prosidur perundangan yg perlu diikuti.....

time pilihanraya...kiri kanan semua melawat...bawa beras la apa
x kena2 jugak kan yg betul2 miskin nih
hujung2 bertahun budak x sekolah....dah brp kali pilihanraya ni budak xde daftar pun

klu malas nak tlg mak pak tuh, amik la anak2 tu dok jkm...
x pyh buang duit tax payer bela penagih buat pusat x abes2..
smp 10 kali keluar masuk, mkn free je....

undang2 apa makan tuan seperti itu


ko ckp dgn org yg duduk atas tanah rumah tuan itu...ko berambus aku bagi ko tempoh 3 hari

bagi aku...selagi ko tuan ....tuan mmg tuan bukan penyewa.


senang cerita mcm2 cara ko boleh buat sebab kita tuan.


kalau mcm itu  buat apa beli rumah jadi tuan, lebih baik jaid penyewa boleh saja pedajjal tuan rumah sewenang2nya

Sorang islam indo sorang budha, depa kahwin mcm mana? & because of this anak2 takde status kerakyatan sbb parents takde sijil kahwin. My concern here, the children. Hak mereka dinafikan, tak dpt pergi sekolah just because mak pak berjodohan mcm ni.
