Mount Ijen is an active volcano located on the border between Banyuwangi Regency and Bondowoso Regency, East Java, Indonesia. This mountain has an altitude of 2,386 meters above sea level.
Facts about the Ijen crater
1. Ijen Crater is the second largest sulfur producing mountain in Indonesia.
2. Kawan Ijen is the largest crater lake on the island of Java, an elliptical crater with a size of approximately 960 x 600 m with a lake water level of approximately 2140 meters above sea level with a lake depth of approximately 200 m and is the world's most terraced lake with a pH of 0.5.
3. Blue Fire phenomenon. The blue fire phenomenon is the result of the reaction of natural gas meeting oxygen at a certain temperature. The blue color of the fire comes from the high temperature in the crater. And there are only two places in the world, namely in Indonesia and in Iceland.
Those are some facts about Ijen crater which is one of the destinations for local and foreign tourists, its distance is not too far from Mount Bromo so that it can be used as a tour package.
