Newdrama "Lan Qiu Huo" (Basketbal Fire) will soon begin filming. Thisdrama will be based on the manga "Suramu Danku" (Slam Dunk).Originally, YAN CHENG XU (Jerry Yan) was to be the first male lead,Sakuragi Hanamichi, and WU ZUN of boy band FAHRENHEIT to be the secondmale lead, Rukawa Kaede. The two "idol gentleman" were planned to worktogether for the first time. However because of recent news of Wu Zun'sschedule being full and that he is not willing to work with Jerry asthe second male lead, this opportunity has failed.
"BasketballFire" will be a Comic and GTV production. The drama will be 20 episodesand it is planned to begin filming in the summer. The story talks abouttwo big college basketball teams battling together and in the end thetwo schools will work together to win the national gold medalbasketball contest. There will be similar scenes with "Basketball Fire"and the manga "Slam Dunk."
According to a crew member, Jerry Yanwas to play the spirited Sakuragi Hanamichi and Wu Zun was to play thecool Rukawa Kaede. However because Wu Zun currently has two big dramasin his hands, "Gong Zhu Xiao Mei" (Little Princess Sister) and thesequel to "Hua Yan Shao Nian Shao Nu" (Hana-Kimi), Wu Zun can not fitin another drama and rejected to participate in "Basketball Fire."
JerryYan plays basketball and Wu Zun was also part of Brunei's NationalBasketball team. Teaming these two guys together will definitely be a"dream team." However, after Fahrenheit's sudden outburst of popularitylast year, Wu Zun's salary also increased greatly and because of thishis company is more strict in Wu Zun's future drama roles. The firstmale lead of "Basketball Fire" is Jerry Yan and if Wu Zun is in thedrama as well, his screen time will definitely be reduced and it cannotbe compared with Jerry's. Therefore it will be like carrying Jerry "inhis carriage."
Wu Zun's manager, DONG PIN SHEN, said, "We'rebaffled. We don't know who will have the heavier screen time, so howwill Wu Zun be embarassed to be the second brother?" She also explainedthat in Wu Zun's scheduled dramas, there was no such drama like"Basketball" in the pending list. She said that it must be because WuZun is now more popular so more rumors are developing. GTV's managersaid that because the drama is still in pre-production, they cannotrelease too much information. Jerry Yan is also not part of theconfirmed cast.
Jerry Yan's manager refused to answer anyquestions. However, she said, "We are actually very open to work withdifferent artists. As for if Jerry will be in "Basketball Fire", he isstill considering about it."

Today,TWApple Daily reported that Jerry and Wu Zun will play in"BasketballFire"and both idols will compete both on the court and infront of thecamera.As Wu Zun is busy filming "My Princess" andestablishing hisnewly openedgym, Jerry uses this opportunity to studythe script, totake actingclasses, and to practise his basketballskills ahead of Wu.Jerry'sagent, Zheng Mao Liang, didn't want toexpress much but onlysaid, "It isstill under discussion." Through hisagent, Wu indicates,"Lookingforward very much to working together."
After filmingTheHospital and establishing his own company, Jerry hasstayed quietup tothis point. Now, he has upgraded to be aninvester/owner, andbecome theowner of Dreamdrama and its only artiste.At the same time,he will workwith Producer Feng Jia Rui filming GTV'snew drama"Basketball Fire". Inaddition, the most looking forward to isthat thenew popular idol, WuZun, will play the main lead with Jerry,filmingthe TW version of SlamDunk (kkla: a Japanese manga and animeserieswritten by Takehiko Inoueabout basketball).
