hard kill hardware against missiles is cost prohibitive and may not be as mobile.
only question is, how effective is this system? has it been proven in trials or actual wars? |

The problem is that the latest generation of missiles like the AGM-88E harm has the sensors to pursue a target almost to the ends of the earth. It's got milimetre-wave radar, IR guide, anti-radiation, home on jam, and i think inertial (and maybe GPS) as well.
Certainly will be able to home on the target radar. The only way this system can protect the radar is to draw the HARM's fire.
Or, use hard-kill. |
