Semalam.. JUVE KALAH
Juventus stunned by last-minute defeat

ROME (AFP) - A controversiol penalty in the third minute of injury time gave relegation-threatened Reggina a shock 2-1 win over Juventus on Saturday and dented the Turin giants' push for a Champions League place.

Juve went into the match on a high after their 2-1 win over Roma last weekend and seemed to be on course for a point before their trip to Reggina unravelled.

Momo Sissoko, making his first start since his switch from Liverpool, was unluckily punished for kicking former Juventus striker Nicola Amoruso in the shoulder as he tried to clear.

A penalty was awarded and Amoruso sent ex-Reggina keeper Emanuele Belardi the wrong way.

Franco Brienza had given the home side a 32nd minute lead when he sprang the offside trap to beat Belardi with a low drive.

But veteran striker Alessandro del Piero levelled in the 71st minute when his shot squirmed beneath the body of Andrea Campagnolo in the Reggina goal.

Juve's night got even worse in the moments after the last minute penalty when Cristiano Zanetti protested the decision and was sent off.

Juventus remain in third place with 47 points, 12 behind runaway leaders Inter Milan and one point behind Roma but they have played a game more.

"The players are very upset, they ran so hard and worked so much," said Juventus coach Claudio Ranieri who was critical of a number of decisions made by the referee.

"We knew it was going to be tough this year and we just have to keep going through it all. We managed to equalise and always play to win, but we didn't manage it and lost."

Reggina coach Renzo Ulivieri sympathised with his counterpart.

"The result may well be harsh on Juve, considering how they played and how many chances they had. But my team battled hard, defended well and took home an important result," said Ulivieri.

In Saturday's other game, Juve's city rivals Torino came back from 4-1 down to grab a 4-4 draw at home to Parma.

On Sunday, Inter travel to Sampdoria shorn of the likes of Walter Samuel and Olivier Dacourt while Patrick Vieira and Luis Figo are only just starting to play again.

Adding to Inter's problems is the knee injury setback suffered by Ivan Cordoba in the Champions League defeat against Liverpool.

Second-placed AS Roma face a tough match at home to fourth-placed Fiorentina.

Ranieri prepares for D-day
Monday 25 February, 2008
Claudio Ranieri is relishing the chance to move on from Saturdays controversy as Juventus face Torino in tomorrows derby showdown.

The Old Lady lost out to Reggina on Saturday after some dubious refereeing decisions by referee Paolo Dondarini, prompting the Bianconeri to send a letter to FIGC lamenting the attitude of Serie A officials.

Juve have the chance to put their Stadio Granillo nightmare behind them as they take on Torino and look to repeat their hard-fought 1-0 victory back in Week 6, even if the scorer that day David Trezeguet is out with the flu

Juventus 0-0 Torino

TURIN, February 26 (Serie A) - Torino and their outstanding goalkeeper Matteo Sereni frustrated Juventus in the Turin derby on Tuesday.

Looking to bounce back from a controversiol 2-1 defeat to Reggina at the weekend, Juventus had plenty of shots on goal but Sereni was always equal to the task.

The Bianconeri also rode their luck after Torino struck the crossbar in the second half.

To complete a disappointing evening for Juve, who are three points behind second-place Roma, Pavel Nedved was sent off deep into stoppage time.

Juve went into the game having to do without top scorer David Trezeguet for the second game in a row, with the French striker out of action with flu.

The game began at a frenetic pace with both teams determined to impose themselves.

Juve had the first chance after 12 minutes with Alessandro Del Piero's curled free-kick going high over the bar.

Torino replied with Gianluca Comotto's effort from outside the area forcing goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon to make his first save.

Juve surged forward but struggled to put a good move together until the 27th minute when they should have broken the deadlock.

Vincenzo Iaquinta latched onto Del Piero's free-kick and his header forced Sereni to dive to his right to clear.

On the half-hour mark, Toro were almost stunned when Del Piero's 30-yard free-kick took a deflection off the wall but went wide, much to the relief of Sereni.

Juve wasted a good chance with Jonathan Zebina unable to get behind Raffaelle Palladino's dangerous cross inside the area.

At the other end, a fast counter-attack from Toro saw Alvaro Recoba surge toward the area and fire a left-footed strike off target.

Toro twice had the opportunity to go into the break with a 1-0 lead but Comotto fired a weak shot from close range that proved an easy catch for the keeper.

On the stroke of half-time, Aimo Diana's cross towards the box found Comotto, whose header went inches wide off the far post.

Juve showed more determination after the re-start and Nedved tried his luck from the distance but his effort went high over the bar.

After 56 minutes, Sereni was forced to fully stretch to clear Del Piero's left-footed strike from the edge of the area.

On the hour mark, Del Piero's central effort went straight to the keeper's hands.

Shortly after, Palladino had a goal disallowed for a clear offside.

Juve continued to press forward and would have gone in front on 68 minutes had Sereni not made a stunning save on Del Piero's curled free-kick.

For all their efforts, Juve almost went behind on 74 minutes.

Substitute Alessandro Rosina's free-kick beat Buffon but struck the crossbar.

With 10 minutes remaining, Mauro Camoranesi served Nedved inside the area but the Czech midfielder struck the ball badly as another opportunity slipped by for the Bianconeri.

On 83 minutes, Juve thought they had taken the lead with Camoranesi's flying header from Del Piero's corner but Sereni got a touch to keep the ball from going in.

Juve did not give up hope and Del Piero's free-kick went high over the crossbar.

Nedved was shown a straight red after pulling Comotto's hair with seconds left to play.

Totti: Juventus Are Always The Same

Roma captain Francesco Totti has unleashed a stinging attack against Juventus, following the Bianconeris decision to write an open letter to the Italian Football Federation complaining about referees.

Juventus stated that they were being deliberately hard done by as a follow-on from the Calciopoli crisis, and Totti is the latest to have his say.

"Juve are complaining? The same club that locked the referees in the room,

Fiorentina Shock Juventus In Five Goal Thriller
Juventus 2-3 Fiorentina

Juventus looked set to win this game after coming back from behind to take a 2-1 lead. But Fiorentina fought back and earned themselves a well deserved win.

First Half

Juventus began the half in good fashion and they were determined to bounce back from their draw with Torino right from the start. In the first minute the Bianconeri should have been in front. Zebina made a good run down the right wing and he squared the ball across to Trezeguet, but the Frenchman just arrived a little late into the box as the ball ran loose.

Zebina was then involved himself and he should have scored. Juve came forward with some excellent build up play. Del Piero crossed a peach of a pass into the box, Zebina got his head to the ball but it just went over. It was all Juventus in the opening few minutes and they should have been in front. The Viola were slow getting themselves into the game and they seemed happy at soaking up the Juve pressure and hit them on the counter attack.

Fiorentina had a glorious chance to take the lead. Molinaro failed to deal with a loose ball and it fell kindly to Santana who cut inside and fired a powerful shot on goal. Luckily for Juve, it went straight at Buffon who parried clear. It was a lucky escape for the home side. Fiorentina then took the lead against the run of play. Gobbi played a terrific one-two with Jorgensen and the defender ran through to beat Buffon from close range with a neat finish. It was harsh on Juve but the goal was excellently worked and well finished.

The Violas goal really served to wake themselves up as until that point they had not really done much. After the goal it was Fiorentina who played like the home side and they began to dominate. However Juve did get back into the game with a touch of luck. Palladino swung in a free kick from the left but the Viola defence failed to clear. Frey got a punch on the ball but it fell to Sissoko who reacted like lightening and he scored with an audacious overhead kick.

Neither side when then able to make the most of the chances they created as the first half came to a close. It was a fairly balanced affair between either side.

Second Half

The Bianconeri began the second half rather poorly. They seemed slow and fatigued and they never really looked like scoring another. Whilst their approach play was good, the final ball in the box was lacking. Just before the hour mark Juve took the lead. Some excellent play between Zanetti and Molinaro on the left wing culminated in an opening being created for the Bianconeri.

Molinaro crossed in a great ball into the back post where Camoranesi was arriving. The midfielder volleyed the ball with his instep leaving Frey with no chance. It was a great finish to a quality move. Fiorentina seemed flat and out of ideas as Juve kept applying the pressure. The second goal was what the home side needed as they began to play some decent attacking football. Fiorentina had no intentions to give up though and they continued to make life difficult for Juve.

Pazzini looked a little isolated for the Viola up front and Cesare Prandelli decided to introduce Osvaldo into the fray. This meant Fiorentina were now playing with four strikers on the pitch as they attempted to steal a point.

Prandelli then replaced Santana with Papa Waigo and the substitution paid off the dividends his side were looking for. The Viola came forward and although Juve tried to clear the ball managed to find Pazzini who squared it across to Papa Waigo. The big striker beat Molinaro to coolly finish inside Buffons far post. It was a well taken goal.

Juve were never really able to find a winner despite creating numerous chances in the last few minutes of time and they were made to pay for their mistakes. In the final minute of injury time the Viola silenced the stadium. Osvaldo popped up with a header to steal all the points for his side. It was a well deserved victory and they move to within a point of the Bianconeri in Serie A.

The Viola also make history as it was their first win against Juventus in Turin for twenty years.

Criscito - 5.5: Was at fault for Trezeguet's goal in a game in which he failed to prove his worth.
